    • Great for indoor flying,meh outside
I loved it until I took it outside. Outside flying is a dangerous propisaton, due to three factors. Wind drifting is a huge issue due to its high vertical profile, how ever this can be mitigated by only flying in low/no wind conditions. The second problem is that the fpv system cuts in and out if the qaud is farther out then 30-90 feet,this means that the headmount unit is completely useless. The 3rd and final problem is the worst. The 3rd problem is that my quad lost signal and just drifted away never to be seen again. Now for the positives. The qaud is FAST. Absurdly fast, I must have hit 30-40MPH in a dive! The handling is very smooth and controlled. The FPV is pretty good for 140 bucks but it can’t be considered reliable enough for googles only flying. If I was going to buy this qaudcopter again,I would do two things, first only fly indoors, in a indoor basketball court or something similar.Secondly, I would buy the Screen unit and the drone/controller separately from the googles, because the googles are a waste of money. In conclusion, if you have a large indoor area to fly in then go for it. However if you want to fly outside, then it’s not the best choice. EDIT: the company saw this review and the customer service representative is trying to send me a new H122D for free to replace the flyaway. Amazing customer service so far,let’s hope it works out.     • BEAST little drone!!!
I've been flying rc planes and helicopters for years and finally decided to try drones out. I read a few reviews and this one seemed like the cheapest and easiest way to try it out and see if I wanted to get into it more. Needless to say I have parts on the way to build a bigger one. I absolutely couldn't be happier with this little drone! it's a blast to fly, and be careful inside......its a lot faster than I thought it would be! I only fly it outside now. But it has survived a few pretty brutal crashes without a scratch! And it survived my girlfriend learning to fly.....immediate launch to 30ft full throttle and then panic... cut throttle....and drop from the sky....and it just took right off again! Lol, she's getting better, and we still love flying this little guy. Again can't reccomend this drone enough, well worth the money. ... show more

This drone is perfect for getting into Drones. I have flown single axle RC Helis and this drone is super easy to pick up and go. The 7.6v lipo needs a LIHV charger so beware if you use a standard lipo charger you will get a shorter flight time. The controller does not suck up the AAA batteries as quickly as people say. I got the full FPV package but have yet to fly FPV, instead I give the goggles to family or friends to watch, they love it. I was planning on learning how to fly with this drone and sell it off but even when I move up to something faster I think im going to keep this as a practice drone. Handles great, video quality is good for the price but has pretty short range and there is a delay in the video which makes FPV flying near obstacles impossible. Head visor is pretty pointless with this drone. I've owned the Hubsan X4 107L version for several years. The X4 Storm is a little bigger, a little heavier and a lot noisier. Both the X4 Storm and the X4 107L seem to handle about the same and fly about the same speed. I think the X4 107L for $35 is a much better purchase than the X4 Storm for $100. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. What an amazing little flyer. It's really fast and nimble and the FPV connection is great! I would have expected to pay a lot more for such a great product. In my video I forgot to mention that the charging cords are included so you can easily charge the battery and the FPV screen with a USB connection. The remote control takes AAA batteries.     • good inexpensive starter
This seems like a great little starter kit. Most professional reviews state it can't compete as a racing drone. That's ok for me, as I was looking for something cheap - and more manual control. I've already got a hover, fly on it's own, dji style camera drone. This one is a first step towards something fast, zippy, fpv. It's pretty stable, has an impressive camera, and so far seems durable. I really like the fact the display has an internal battery. It also supports the basic channels and I've used with my other drones. Plus the flexibility of mounting the display on the controller, or in the headset is a neat idea. (haven't tried the headset unit yet) It was pretty important to me that the video was NOT wifi, It had to be quick and responsive - and that's hard to find at this price point. Now, I'll mention the motors are not brushless - which might account for the short runtime (7-9 min). But I figured I'll probably crash and destroy the drone before they motors start to fail. Don't really have any comment on video quality - that's not the point of this drone. If you want 4k video this is not the drone for you. But so far I've only seen clear transmissions with no static. My only complaint so far is related to my lack of skills - whenever I land/crash in grass it tends to get grass around the motor shaft. ... show more
