  • Extra stability
I was really worried about attaching the triple monitor stand on my computer desk because it's made of MDF and a few metallic parts. the plates are a little heavy, but they made it feel more secure and stable, and made me worry less about the table snapping. Would recommend.

  • Highly Recommend, but is it Worth It?
I decided to purchase two monitor arms for my setup, as I wanted more space on my actual desk and more freedom to move my monitors. However, my desk was very expensive and I was afraid of the weight potentially digging into my desk and damaging it. I purchased these along with the monitor arms from the same company, as I heard good things about the quality of the arms, and I trusted buying these since they were from a reputable brand. It is super simple, just two pieces of metal that fit onto the desk and just disperse the pressure of the weight onto the desk. The first thing I noticed was how heavy the actual plates are, coming in at around 4 pounds for two plates. It didn't bother me, but it was just strange how much it actually took. Regardless, the heavier plate rests on top of the desk with an adhesive pad underneath to assure it sticks to the table. On the bottom, the next piece is placed in between the clamp and the desk. Assembly is tricky and tedious, but not hard at all if you have the motor skills above a 4th grade child. It is just a bit challenging to place the bottom piece where it needs to go without it falling, while juggling the clamp for the monitor arms. It works well and it does as it is advertised. Overall I am satisfied with how it works. I have only two main complaints about the unit. Firstly, the pads are pretty big. I knew that it would take a good portion of my desk economy, but I had no clue how much it truly would be. Don't get me wrong, it is much more space than it would have been if I didn't use the monitor arms, and used the stands that came included with each monitor. However, they are still decently big, leaving little space on a thin desk. If you have a bigger desk than it is no problem, but thinner desks like mine will see varying results. It isn't a big deal, still plenty of space, but they most likely could have used smaller pads, but I could understand if someone used two monitor arms for one pad. I have two monitor arms, but I use two different pads due to how spread out I like the arms. The other issue I had was the price of the monitor arm. For $25, you're getting two slabs of metal and some adhesive pads. It isn't a rip off by any means, rather it is probably a bit more expensive than it should be. Again, I would rather pay the difference than potentially get something that would warp or crack my desk. My overall thoughts, I have had the plates for a month, and they work tremendously. I don't see any warping of the desk or damage, so they work. I give four stars because they work, and they do it well. If they could make a model that is slightly smaller and cheaper, then this would be an easy 5 stars, but it isn't unfortunately. No matter what I say, the difference is worth it in the long haul, taking care of every portion of your computer setup is important, including both the desk and your monitors. ... show more

While it was bigger than I thought, it worked perfectly.

  • Perfect for the purpose... but I question the price...
I have a couple monitor arms and the issue I have noticed is that the amount of weight of the monitor and the way the monitor arms work, there is a lot of force placed on the desk where the monitor arm attaches to the desk. This is especially true if the desk you are attaching the monitor arm onto isn't as solid as it should be. In my case, I've been attaching the monitor arm to an IKEA coffee table... and this coffee table top isn't completely solid. To deal with this situation, I had used some thin boards of wood to spread the force over a larger area... which is essentially what this metal plate does. My solution with the boards of wood does work... however, after some time, the wood has started warping due to the amount of force. These metal plates avoid this problem by being much more sturdier than wood even while being thinner. The only problem I see is price... given it's simply a stamped out sheet of metal that is painted (or maybe powder coated?). I think it's a bit pricey. But on the other hand, I realize this is not a commonly needed product. If your desk top is sturdy enough to support the monitor arm, there is really no need for this. One last word of warning... the top plate is rather large... there are dimensions it shows in the description but sometimes until you actually see a product physically, it's sometimes hard to judge the size. But the plus side of the size is that this will distribute the weight of the monitor arm over a larger area. ... show more

  • Does what it’s supposed to do
I bought this to go with some monitor arms for my desk. I’m currently using a desk from IKEA and as you may know they are not solid desks. Luckily I found this product and bought it to avoid having to get an entirely new desk as well. I’ve been using them about 2 months now and have notice no deformation in the desk around the area where the arms are connected. They are incredibly robust and do a fantastic job at spreading out the weight of the arms and monitors. I currently am using it with the dual monitor arms from Huando along with a 27 inch acer monitor and a smaller 22 inch acer monitor. I would highly recommend this product and have gotten a friend of mine to purchase it as well. ... show more

  • Stable Steel Plates
It's surprised that the steel plates are heavy and very sturdy. If you place big monitors, these are necessary.
