I can't believe I wrestled-around with rickety roller stands for so many years. This thing is heavy, strong, stable and it adjusts with no drama. I actually took a Sharpie marker and made a few lines on it: one to match my table saw height, another for my miter saw, etc. I can adjust it just a few seconds when going from one operation to another. This is the second of these HTC roller stands I have purchased. Both are sturdy and solid during use. Easy to adjust both height and level. The best part of this product is the customer service from the manufacturer. I had a minor manufacturer defect in one of the stands I purchased and contacted Affinity Tool Works for support. This pedestal roller stand is nearly perfect. It was easy to assemble and is easy to correctly adjust to the proper height. The stand is study and well made. The feet can be easily adjusted if your shop floor is not level. The stand is heavy enough that it will not easily tip over. Before, I had a cheap light-weight stand from Sears. This stand is a significant improvement. I would purchase this stand again. Its made in the USA, so that is good. I have revised this review to downgrade it from 5 stars to 4 stars, since it is not so easy to do a fine adjustment of the height. ... show more

Terrific heavy duty stand that locks better than any other stand I have ever used thanks to a wedge-shaped inner post design. I can’t speak to the people complaining about problems with heavy loads, but this has worked beautifully for me. This roller is very sturdy, rolls smoothly and easy to use. It's easy to adjust with the leveling feet and won't slide around. I've tried another brand and this one is far superior, well worth the money.

I had thought the crank on this stand would raise and lower to match the changing height of my planer. However, once set the crank works to lower the level only. To raise the roller you loosen the crank and lift up manually. It is not what I thought and a waste of money but is sturdy if you only make occasional adjustments. ... show more

I set both supports to bandsaw table height. But one support is on the floor, the other on a half inch rubber mat. Inside the outer square tube is an inner weldment wedge shaped full length. Adjustment down by backing off the crank is highly precise; I imagine a few thousandths of an inch is possible, much less than a 32nd or 64th. I guess it correlates with the thread pitch of the crank, after a study you could make quick adjustments with partial turns of the crank. Set up a machinist's travel gauge then see the result of a quarter turn of the crank. Since the weldment is a wedge there is no slippage. Fine investment ! ... show more

    • This stand is genius!

I've fought for years using other stands because they're so difficult to set at the precise height off the floor. The other ones are heavy, and they don't have an easy way to precisely set the height. This is important if you're working with long boards with a planer, drum sander or jointer. The genius of this stand is that you set it to a height a little higher than you want it to be and then carefully turn the crank. Because the "column" that holds the roller is tapered, as you turn the crank, it slowly drops the roller. By slowly, I mean maybe 1/32" at a time. It might even be smaller than that. Just turn the crank slowly and you get to where you want the roller to be. It's a simple concept but it works great! It was what I needed. ... show more
