  • Great monitor for gaming/general use (HP X34 UWQHD)
Style: 34” Pattern: Monitor
HP X34 UWQHD Monitor I bought this monitor to use for gaming, specifically sim racing and racing games (iRacing, BeamNG, Forza, etc.) and it works awesome. Picture quality is really good and a huge upgrade from what I previously had (1680x1050 TN Acer monitor, yuck!). A few points about the monitor I have found after using it for a few days now: -- Use Freesync! This monitor has Freesync, and I was worried since my PC has an Nvidia GPU (GTX 1060 6GB), but it looks much worse with it off. Lots of weird screen "ghosting" type of issues, but with Freesync turned on, everything look better and feels smoother. -- Mess around with the monitor settings as it does have quite a few built in along with a few presets to get you started. It can make the picture quality even better for what your uses are -- For iRacing, I was able to significantly improve my racecraft because I went from a FOV of 47 degrees to 84. It has made me more aware, and even having the better resolution too, I can see things happening in front of me better. -- For general use, this monitor is also great. My productivity has improved a bit since I can fit 4 pages on one screen and look at all of them at once. It makes getting work done much better and more streamlined. -- I was a bit concerned buying this monitor at first since there is literally nothing online about it, whether it is here or even on YT. But now after getting to use it and for the price, I know I made the right purchase. ... show more

  • Awesome monitor, especially for this price range
Style: 34” Pattern: Monitor
It always feels like there's a catch with ultrawide monitors in this price range, like it may have a low refresh rate or have terrible ghosting, but this one doesn't seem to have any obvious flaws. The only major difference between this monitor and its more expensive competition appears to be that this one is flat instead of curved. The consensus also appears to be that this is the same panel as in the Gigabyte M34WQ. Pros: - Panel is bright and pixel response time is fantastic - Contrast is good for an IPS (not incredible but still good) - FreeSync Premium works well with my PC - Picture clarity: some people have said the anti-glare coating makes text blurry, but I have not found this to be the case. Neutral: - Flat display could go either way. I like it, but I could see how others might want a curved display at this size - Included stand is "good enough" - Buttons to control the OSD are fine but a joystick really is the way to go (HP has been using buttons on their displays forever though) Con: - Some slight IPS glow in the bottom left and top left corners of the display ... show more

  • Bought for light gaming but better for working
Style: 32” Pattern: Monitor
I was looking for a 27-inch IPS monitor that would be good for both gaming and working. I couldn't resist when I saw $200 on this monitor and never regret it. I set the resolution at 1440p but the refresh rate at 144 because my laptop doesn't have the display port but only HDMI. For gaming, my graphics card (gtx1060) cannot handle this one well. So, I have to play the games in a window mode, but that's just my old laptop's problem. I set the window size about at 27 inches and am happy. What I really like about this monitor is when I work. I can open 4 windows without sacrificing the clarity of pictures and readiability of texts. This makes my jobs so easy. And I don't need to turn on my laptop's display (of course I can if I need sometimes). The screen is bright too. I think I got a really good deal. ... show more

  • A Hidden Gem
Style: 34” Pattern: Monitor
First off, I paid under $400 for something with 3440x1440 resolution, IPS panel, HDR, Freesync Premium, 165hz refresh rate and 1ms gtg. Yeah, it isn't curved but that's honestly fine. Great monitor for work. Fantastic with gaming, Cyberpunk and RDR2 look fantastic in ultrawide. You may need to adjust your DPI but thats expected. HDR is good for entry level but I keep it off. A steal at $400 or cheaper. Good alternative to the M34WQ ... show more

  • you can't go wrong with this gaming monitor, some little issues though.
Style: 32” Pattern: Monitor
This gaming monitor is awesome, allow me to say that I am not a professional in this of reviewing so I am just going to say what I like of this product and what I don't like, I mean pros and cons. PROS: 1) picture qualite is pristine, using it whit my RTX 3060 to play video games delivers an astonishing palet of vivid colors in my videogames. 2) I may be lucky but mine do not have any light leakage using display port 1.1 or 1.2, blacks are perfect. 3)very good contrast ratio...all this using Display port 1.1 CONS: 1) display port 1.2 do not work with my dedicated RTX 3060 it says no signal, it does work with the integrated gpu though. 2) when using display port 1.4 with my dedicated graphic card or the integrated graphic card it shows some weird ilumination against black backgrounds wherever place I move my mouse or white letters appear against black backgrounds, this does not happen using display port 1.1 or 1.2 though, I mean it's like light leakage but wherever I move my mouse against black backgrounds. I haven't tried it with HDMI yet, if somebody knows how to solve this problems, help will be grateful. ... show more

Style: 34” Pattern: Monitor
The media could not be loaded. This is the best deal out there for a gaming monitor in my opinion. 165hz, ultrawide, 1440p AND IPS? for $460?? Absolute insanity but I'm so glad I found this. Stay away from the washed out colors that VA monitors make you settle for, screen tearing issues with VA are basically non-existent at this point, so there really isn't a noticeable advantage with VA panels anymore. I've been playing Destiny, Overwatch 2 Beta, and Arkham Knight on this, and they all look great! I was worried that 1440p would basically be 1080p after being stretched across a 21:9 aspect ratio, but rest assured, this still looks significantly better than 1080p. What are you waiting for? JUST BUY IT!!! ... show more
