Worked just as intended -- we had a camping event in 80 degree heat, Wednesday night through Sunday night. We used block ice (frozen in those silicone molds for ice baths) and lined it before putting in the food. By Monday morning (when we got home) -- more than half the ice was still solid. We /did/ put it in ziploc bags just in case it melted, but the ice in each of the bags was more than half solid. All of it. Cooler has a solidly fit seperator in the middle that neatly (and water tight) separates the two halfs if you use it -- and a basket for dry foods on one half. After we moved down to Florida, we were advised to prepare for power outages during hurricane season. I bought this cooler with the impression it could keep ice and cold objects sufficiently cool for several days. The heat index during the summer in Southwest Florida gets into the low hundreds, so my expectations were only a couple of days. Which is exactly how long the ice will last. The cooler is solid, does exactly what I would like it to do. I'm sure it would stay cooler longer in less extreme heat conditions, but not so in our area That said, it is perfect for all day outings, just not several day stretches. ... show more

Great quality! As far as keeping ice it's too early to tell. Just got it and took it on a trip from Iowa to Ohio in early March. It was mostly filled with food and I put one 8 pound bag of ice on one side of the cooler; It took eight days before it was all melted. I know from experience the it makes a difference when you don't use very much ice, so having temperatures between 40 and 70 degrees doesn't task it much. However 8 pounds of ice is a drop in the bucket for a 60 quart cooler. I have another cooler of the same size in a different brand that says it will keep ice for five days; have had it for 20 years and can say it does that and then some. I plan on testing it with my old one when we start seeing 90+ degrees. Hopefully Amazon will let me do a follow-up. I put a lot of time and thought into this before buying and would have loved to see something like that before I purchased it. Once again, great quality and I'm very pleased. ... show more
