These are great fun, especially when matched up with the attachment that you can turn them into go cart style. My kids love cruising on them (2 separate brands of hoverboards)...well, this Hover-1 was fun overall until the cheap charge cable end popped out. If you can't charge with their proprietary cable, you can't use the hoverboard. Also, these will be constantly beep when going a little fast, which is not so fast as being unsafe as a go-cart. Super annoying beeping. I've been waiting on Hover 1 support since early August, so almost 6 months at this point; and in mid-August they said they would be sending a replacement charge cable, but that I'd get a notice upon it shipping. BUT nothing since then. They forgot about me and/or lost my claim. I was fine giving them a couple of months, as they stated there are delays due to the pandemic...but no update, no shipping status, and no surprise item in the mail; now going on up through nearly 6 months; is not ok. I reached out (via email) last month to follow up and ask what's going on/status, but it's been another week and a half, and only the immediate system reply had been sent back to my email saying they'd be getting back. Well, a day or 2 is fine, but over a week, on top of the other months...terrible. You will likely have some electronics issue or part issue with these hoverboards. Good luck getting support by the manufacturer. If you want one still, at least get the extended warranty then, so Amazon will help passed your 30 days otherwise. I only went through the manufacturer so far because Amazon suggested, of course. I'm going to be reaching out to Amazon again at this point, because I want my kids to be able to play on their hoverboard again when the weather turns Spring-like....soon. ... show more

I always expect a few negative reviews out of hundreds, because somebody is BOUND to get a defective product eventually. When my husband was researching hover boards with our 12-year-old, he saw the reviews on this one complaining about the uncontrollable spin, but dismissed them as aberrations among hundreds of positive reviews. That was a big mistake. We received ours on Friday, and then it rained all weekend so it only got used very slowly up and down our hall. It was easy to use and seemed to work well. On Monday morning our daughter was on it indoors when it started to spin, but she was able to quickly step off and turn it off. A few hours later it dried up enough to use outside. She was going faster this time when the machine went into a spin she couldn't correct, and was thrown off and now has a broken arm. This was when I discovered that five of the top 6 reviews report this dangerous problem, all in the last six months. Reading further brings the total up to 7 out of the first 12--that's where I stopped counting. It appears that my husband sorted reviews by stars rather than just starting at the top, and therefore didn't realize how many of the recent reviews report the same problem. Our mistake, so please don't let it be yours. Even when we return the defective hover board, we've now spent more in medical bills for a broken bone than we did on this unpredictable device. Plus our daughter saved up for a long time for something she now refuses to use again. I realize that a hover board has an inherent danger but this wasn't misuse, this was a dangerous malfunction that has been documented before. ... show more

We’ve had it for a couple weeks and is working well. My older son tried to ride it, clearly over the weight limit at 160 lbs, and it swayed to the point of scraping the bottom on the sidewalk. Great if you stick to the weight limit!

First one we had would occasionally spin uncontrollably when no one was on it. Daughter claimed it would also sometimes stop suddenly throwing her off. We exchanged it with the mfg under warranty which was an easy process. The new one has arrived but my daughters been too scared to get on it again. Will update this review when she finally does to see if it has the same issues. ... show more
