I bought one of these hampers through Walmart Site to Store but the whole process was a horrible hassle! I came to Amazon to buy more. I should have looked on Amazon first! I got the bag home and hung it on my door and saw what a simple but great idea this is. I am injured and can not pick up a heavy basket. But I did not want something obvious and ugly hanging around my room. This bag hides discreetly behind the bedroom door. It is a nice, thick, plain canvas with no silly, stupid decorations on it. The heavy duty hanger does exactly what the description says, holds the hamper open so it does not take 2 hands to fumble with, trying to cram the laundry in. The bag easily comes off the hanger. It has a nice, thick canvas pull strap to close the bag once off the hanger. I can, with my good hand, take the hanger off the bag and put it back on. Plus, you can wash the canvas bag if it starts getting dirty and needs to be washed. Like I said, I have purchased one, just to make sure it was not junk. I did not want to have to return 5 of these. I really like it, it is a smart design, saves floor space, holds a lot laundry and costs around $10.00. It is a great deal. I was happy to see Amazon carried them, but who was I kidding, Amazon carries everything! I will use one more for my bathroom to throw towels in, some in my teen boys' rooms, and might hang one in the garage. I might even buy more for the kitchen to throw towels in. I love this hamper. It's made from quality material, not thin. It has plenty room in it. And it hangs up off the ground which is great when you live in a small space, it keeps the floor tidy. I got black for dark clothes and white for lights. The metal hanger is very thick and sturdy. I hang both of these in or near my bathroom and drop the dirty clothes right in them. I use an over the door hanger and just took it right on that. I could easily see this for a dorm room, or each child having one in their bedroom. There's a zipper so you can take the canvas portion off of the hanger to laundry it if needed. The product looks well made and looks like it will last a long time. ... show more

Our kids have hampers in their closets, and we have one in our bathroom. But what does one do with dirty dish towels, the hand towel that wiped up the spilled soup, and the muddy pants and socks that just came in from a hike in the woods? More often then not, those types of things were just getting tossed into the corner of the laundry room waiting for 'someone' to do the next load of laundry. Yep - that was very perturbing. Our laundry room is long, but narrow... one door leading to the inner hallway, and the other to the garage. There is no room for a floor-standing hamper in there, but there is an 8 hook coat rack the seems perfectly made for this hanging hamper. Indeed, the hanging hamper was put in place and an edict sent out to all that the dirty odds 'n ends must now go into it, and not on the floor. That has been a very nice change, and earns this hamper 5 stars for getting the dirty laundry off my floor an into a bin. However, as other reviewers have noted, the hanger mechanics are just poorly done and there is no way to set the hanger that keeps the mouth of the hamper open for easy use. Instead, it slides to one side or the other --- closing the mouth of the hamper, and making the hamper hang crooked. If the hanger were fixed in place, all would seemingly be well with the world! Think that will be my next project -- wonder how fixed I can make it using vice grips and a hammer? Regardless of the design fault, the dirty tidbits are now off of the laundry floor and that is a good thing. Recommended, as long as you are not too sensitive about the way it hangs -- or maybe you can hang it in a location that is neveer visible to others and the way it hangs will be a non issue. I bought this several years ago, and it lasted pretty well until one of the men in the house warped the metal frame at the top, I'm not naming names or saying who or even judging them, but eventually it was hard to deal with, all out of shape like that, so I bought another one because it works really well. We have a tiny apartment. There are 3 of us. This holds the laundry - all of it - for a few days and then I do it. This includes work out clothing from one XL man and sweaty teenage male clothing from one S-M man and one average woman who rarely bothers to get dressed except twice a week lately because I only teach twice a week and the rest of the time I work from home, so why dress? When it's full without overflowing, it is the size of our washer - an apartment washer that you pay for in the basement, a front-loading thing - and since I don't separate colors or whites because I don't wear white and whoever else does, too bad for them - we all just use this. It doesn't take up a lot of space. It hangs in a hallway off the back of a closet. A laundry bag would fill up and take up half the hallway (believe me, I know this) and then we'll trip on it walking in the middle of the night to the bathroom (believe me, we've done this) so a laundry bag doesn't work. THIS actually works. It maintains its basic shape. It doesn't ooze all over the floor. It doesn't even reach the floor. And it has a cool little strap (not shown) that helps me haul it down the hall to the elevator to the laundry in the basement. If I don't drag it along the floor, it stays pretty clean, but it's also easy to take it off the metal frame and wash it (I'm already in the laundry room anyway) so it's easy.
