Mediums size trunk purchased in the warehouse. Trunk came ALMOST fully assembled. Due to defect, the side and lid were not attached. If you buy a full price, I’m not sure if this trunk is fully assembled. I am giving 5 stars because of the price and look. I purchased in the warehouse for a steal, but the trunk had issues: -The top was not attached, but had been -the side was also not attached, but had been I nailed the side and top (I need more nails for the side) I read the reviews prior to purchase: THE NOISE, is a bracket that holds the lid in place so it doesn’t slam down. When you open or close it clicks, that’s it. THE WOOD, is authentic so there will be some flaws, that’s what makes it nice THE SMELL, mine did not have a smell. I do believe it was put together poorly, and you may need to reinforce with common household nails. OVERALL, descent size trunk with aged look, value for the money if you can get in the warehouse. *I use the trunk for storage of my supplies and staging pics on top. The little things pic on trunk are florals and mine so please disregard* ... show more

The wood is thin, so the chest is lightweight. It is pretty sturdy, have it stocked full of blankets. The color is as advertized. Unfortunately It did not come with a lock. It is worth what we paid for it though. I would bye another one if needed.

Looks super cool and trendy! The hinges work great. It's a really solid piece especially compared to the particle board many things are made of these days. I can't give 5 stars because it's 100% brown. There's absolutely no red tone to it in any lighting. Also, I feel it's priced a bit high.

If you want to live your life in your living room avoid this chest. We had it for nearly a month when our son went to get a blanket and the lid cracked and fractured when he closed it. He didn't force it. He didn't apply pressure to it. He simply closd the lid and it cracked. OK, things like that happen. It's a display of shoddy workmanship, but it happens. I love the trunk, though, so I contacted the company to see if I could purchase a replacement lid to install myself. No, they don't do that. They receive it from the manufacturer and simply sell the piece. OK, no problem there. Happens all the time. Can I order one directly from the manufacturer? No, sorry. So now I have a broken lid (too broken to effectively repair and definitely noticeable), can't get a replacement and am past the return deadline. And out the money. Bottom line, if you live a normal life DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!! If you live in a museum and never touch or use anything you own you should be just fine. ... show more

This trunk is solidly constructed and looks beautiful -- I am using it as a coffee table in front of a loveseat and it is perfect width and height for this purpose. The trunk also provides ample storage which is a real plus -- I have six throw blankets inside and there is still some unused space.
