Huge huge upgrade from our old flagpole. So the bad first: The carabiners that come with the pole are hot garbage, I broke one easily just fiddling with the thing (not a huge minus stay tuned.) The pole itself is slightly flimsy. Tightening the rings will dent the pole, it's fairly thin. The good: Replacing the cheap carabiners with split rings was a winner. Multiple days of "small craft advisory" wind and it cannot twist itself. The split rings keep the mass low enough that the flag doesn't overwhelm the swivels. Originally, after realizing how cheap the supplied carabiners were, I upgraded them with better carabiners. Twisted all over the pole. I switched to split rings (pictured) and it works perfectly. Side bonus the pole is sectional and universal. So the "6 foot" pole can be shortened by just not installing a section. My advice is buy longer and customize to fit your application.

These seem to be made good enough for the price.. don't know how long they will last since only been up for 3 days...look very nice and fast shipping...only gave 4cstars because the hex supplied was not the correct size...no problem bc I had my own but still not correct.

Excellent product. With other flagpoles the flag would wrap around the pole and the plastic ring clips would not prevent this. This flagpole has metal ring clips and I have not had any issues with the flag wrapping. It does what it supposed to do.

I should have read more of the reviews. I spend more time untwisting this flag than it does flying straight. Before I purchased this pole, I used and old wood section of a broom handle with two holes drilled and with the flag held on my plastic wire ties and it did a better job. When I first got the pole I was excited by the design. Surely something with adjustable bearing/sliders would do a lot better job right? Wrong? I have tried everything. To get it to come even close, requires the flag not being tight between the loops so it does not look good from the start. On top of that the sections tend to unscrew too. Probably from the flag twisting around the pole. It's not all that well made either too be honest. The poles section are very thin light metal that screw together in sloppy fashion. I will be looking for a new pole that is closer in design to the old wooden pole I used to use. Sometimes simple is better. I definitely cannot recommend this flag pole....unless of course you don't have any wind where you live.
