  • Works Well Cutting Aluminum
Size: 8-1/4-Inch Style: 80-Tooth
Hoteche’s carbide tipped 8-1/4-Inch 80 tooth circular saw blade for aluminum allows you to cut stock for projects from plate, angle, or other profiles very fast and efficiently. The saw is specifically made to cut aluminum. The saw’s kerf is 1.5mm, which is a little less than 3/32-inch. I have been using a similar saw that is made to cut steel without any issues. However, I was intrigued if this blade had any advantages. This blade cuts aluminum very well. It makes getting straight cuts easy. The big difference I saw between this blade and the other blade I have been using is the shape of the chips generated while cutting. This blade creates large stringy chips (see photos of chip and cut finish). I suspect that this blade is truly better at cutting aluminum. The teeth of the blade have 2 shapes: one for cutting the edge of the cut and the other for cutting the center. The teeth shapes alternate. The 8-1/4-inch diameter allows for cutting thicker profiles, like channel without a second pass. The blade has an arbor size of 30mm, which isn’t standard for any of my tools. However, it comes with 3 arbor adapters for 1-inch, 13/16-inch, and 5/8-inch. If you need the 13/16-inch adapter, you may be out of luck since it is only 20mm. Arbor adaptors for 13/16-inch tools are usually 21mm. My table saw has a 5/8-inch arbor and the provided adapter works ok. I am using the blade on a table saw. The arbor adapters are slightly thinner than the blade. I like the blade I am currently using a lot, but will switch to using it only for steel, and start using this blade for aluminum projects. Both blades give a similar cut finish. I am not crazy about using arbor adapters, I prefer a blade with the correct arbor size. That aside, this is a good blade for preparing aluminum stock for projects. ... show more

  • Good replacement blade for 8 1/4" saws
Size: 8-1/4-Inch Style: 40-Tooth
I got this blade without checking the arbor size and was a little stunned when i received it and found it had a 1 3/16" arbor Luckily the manufacturer was smart enough to include the washer shims to convert the 5/8" arbor to the 1 3/16" arbor hole on the blade All is good nd the blade works great

  • Caution
Size: 8-1/4-Inch Style: 40-Tooth
This blade is for a saw with an 1 3/16 inch arbor . If your saw has that arbor size you are probably just fine with this blade. It is thin kerffed so it has the usual slight wave. The problem is with the spacers if you have the normal five eights arbor. The spacers are thinner than the blade and do not press in to the blade. They simply fall through. The blade mounting washer on a saw is purposely concave. If the spacer slips out under power, you have a very dangerous situation. And for that reason, I will not be using this blade. ... show more
