    • Great toy, best for ages 5 and up!
I purchased this carwash set for my 3 1/2 year old, and absolutely loved playing with this set. That said, I had to ultimately return it because he still lacked the dexterity to operate the spinner component of the carwash (the blue reservoir where the car splash lands). He enjoyed turning the water tower faucet which fills the carwash "bath" with hot water, that turns the color changer cars' color. He also enjoyed operating the turn mechanism of the yellow dryer rollers. We used the toy indoors, and yet, a minimal amount of water escaped the toy and landed on the floor, but it was so easy to clean up with just a single paper towel. The toy has a removable dish that acts as a reservoir to catch water droplets and splashes. Anyway, I had to return because at 3 1/2 my son was not yet able to utilize the spinning device which holds the icy water to change the car color yet again. This was a main feature of the toy, and instead of him doing it, I always had to do this part, and also fish out the cars as they got stuck inside of it. Not fun...so, this was a deal breaker for me though I'm sure it would not have presented any problems for a slightly older child. Anyway, I still highly recommend the toy, as it's made well, has a great concept, and is a good quality standalone toy. One additional thing to beware of though is that the Color Changer cars cost more than $15 each!!! Yes, you can use your regular Hot Wheels cars on this, but they won't all fit. The Color Changer cars are slightly shorter than the others, and that leads to them getting stuck in the cold water reservoir mentioned earlier. It's easy enough for an older child to fish these out (though it's probably frustrating), but not a younger child. Anyway, just be prepared to shell out major $$$ to build up your Color Changer car inventory! ... show more

We love it! Wonderful toy. I'm glad I got it off Amazon. Much cheaper than Target. Easy build. Even mom can do it 😋 everything is in bags according to what "zone" you're putting together. Which is awesome! Only thing I hate is that it only comes with one color changing car. Each new color changing car you buy is 30 bucks. It's ridiculously pricey. What can you do. My son's extremely happy. So that's all that matters to me. I love that it comes with a picture of each piece you can buy to complete the city. It's amazing how many more you can get. The city will be huge when we are done! ... show more

    • Great Summer Water Toy
We actually got this last year for our 3yo Christmas gift. It was fun but soon forgotten...until I dragged it out for summer. It's been the best summer water toy! I turn the hose on just a trickle, stick it in the ter tower, and both my now nearly 4yo and 1 year old play with it. They've returned to it again and again all summer.     • Great toy - Lots of fun!
This toy is super fun! Both of my boys (9 & 4) have had a blast playing with it. I was worried about it using water and was afraid it would have to be played with outside to avoid a wet mess on the floor. But, we actually have only played with it inside. They can have some fun without using the water features. But, when they want to use the water features, we just put it on the tile flood with a towel underneath and there’s not much mess. Also, I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to dry the whole thing when they were done — wipes down very quickly with a towel. ... show more

    • Pretty cool!
My 5 year old has wanted this for a long time. Finally we bought it for his birthday. I would have had a hard time putting it together but his dad put it together pretty quickly. Instructions are pretty clear but there's a lot of assembly required. It's a fun toy. It held my sons interest for a while but the water part is super messy. One piece broke almost immediately but the rest of it seems pretty sturdy. It's a fun toy but definitely overpriced and takes up a lot of space. endless fun and great quality, my three year old puts a beating on this set. It also easily attached to all of his other hotwheels tracks and set ups. The only issue I have is this is a little messy with the water but I cant think of any way they could use the water and it not be messy. My 3-year-old and 5-year-old boys love this hot wheels set. It was very easy to put together and was quick to get up and running. The only issues I’ve run into are cars getting stuck in the spin wash section. Between that, and refilling hot and cold water, this play set does require a lot of adult attention. ... show more

    • The directions matter
My kid loves this! Too bad it was a Christmas present and he hasn’t been able to play much with the water in it. We put a towel down the first day so he could get the full experience. It is messy, but hey, it uses water. As for the reviews that the spinning part doesn’t eject the cars... the water has a full line that is very hard to see. It’s about two cups or so of water. If the water is below that line it doesn’t work very well. However, once I filled it to the right level the water swirled and pushed the cars right out. ... show more
