Description

Measuring in at more than two-feet tall, the Hot Wheels Vertical-8 Jump track set features two different paths to stunt and race. First off, my son was absolutely ecstatic to open this gift on Christmas morning. However, he insisted on me assembling it right away instead of him opening the rest of his gifts. So you might want to consider whether you prefer to gift this in the box or already assembled. That said, although it took some time to assemble, the instructions were clear and all the pieces are labeled. As mentioned by other reviewers, all hot wheels cars do NOT stay on this track. My son was very disappointed but we made a game out of testing all his cars and found ONE that worked, although not as well as the one that comes with the track. I also disliked the force that was required to get the car to race on the track. You literally have to slam the trigger. Initially I was worried that he would eventually break it. However, I will say that after a few weeks of use, you do not have to slam it as hard for it to work and it hasn't broken yet. Initially, I would have given this 3 stars but it managed to redeem itself over time. TIP: we've since dug through a bin of hotwheels cars in the store and the "HW Track Champs" cars seem to be perfect for this. Specifically, we bought Rollin' Solo 5/5. ... show more

The launcher works sporadically. Fortunately, I previously swapped the two D batteries in an underwhelming booster with 4 rechargeable AA batteries, making it ridiculously overpowered. The combo of this set with the modded booster is perfect. Two wrongs actually made a right.
