Hot Air Stirling Engine Motor Model, I got this for my oldest nephew to check out since he's been pretty into energy function lately. It's kind of an old school looking science toy, which is just a lot of fun overall. It worked as advertised and he got to learn about energy transfer in a very easily visualized way. Cool stuff! In short, this Stirling Engine Kit is an interesting item for an office or game room or for display on a library shelf.

The media could not be loaded. This hot air Stirling engine is a delightful little piece of work and it works like a charm. It is the same as a gas generator that converts heat energy into electricity, but on a much smaller scale. I bought it for decoration and it really is unmatched. It is perfectly constructed and sparkling. Perfect for a home decor party or to give as a gift.

I ordered this Stirling engine to build with my 11-year-old grandson. We both enjoy building STEM projects, and as a retired science teacher, I can use the time to teach him about how things work. This is a neat project and teaches physics. You will need to purchase a high-grade alcohol fuel, I use 95% pure alcohol as it provides a hotter, more efficient burn. If you use isopropyl alcohol of 70 or 95%, you will get a sooty output. There are other options for fuel, but I find the best one to use is the 95% pure alcohol. It is well-made and was easy to assemble. The rotating engine generates electricity, and the light illuminates. This is a great project for adults or kids 10 years and older.

This is a great little engine that demonstrates the Sterling 'hot air' engine. While I just think it's really cool, my husband has expounded at great length, the processes involved and is quite charmed by the beauty of the engine itself. It was very easy to set up and worked perfectly. I am sure there will be a physics lesson involved for my grandsons homeschool in the future but for now it can be beautifully displayed, its that pretty.
