This is our first Mechanical Metronome; the transparent case lets you see the inside mechanism. It's powered by winding up. My main complaints are 1 The volume is a bit too loud and is not adjustable, 2 The overall size is a bit bulky; 3 The cover cannot be stored or attached to the main body, which makes it easy to lose.     • Accurate but Chime Broken

This metronome produces a nice balanced tempo all the way down to 40bpm. Meaning the left half of the beat is the same duration as the right half of the beat. Another plus is the rubber feet which prevents it from walking across the table while it plays. If you do not need a chime (accented downbeat), this is a great metronome! This metronome is great, its lightweight, easy to adjust and use, but the packaging was poorly done. The plastic casing is a decent thickness, but chipped in transit. There was a small of foam holding the top in place but the bottom only had the thin bubble wrap bag around it and the front corners of my item were chipped so the bottom doesn't stay on. The metronome works, and we need it for concert practice so I wont be returning it, but the mfg should have put a foam base in there to protect the bottom corners as well. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I wanted a metronome that was fun to look at and would encourage my son to practice. The color was great at that. It works well. Heavy and durable so it does need to be taken care of.
