Soooo bad! They came in a small box which was the one good thing. Cheap material that gives NO stability and will fall over in rain or wind. Once they are placed they cannot be used again IF you can get them into the ground and no where near what was pictured. More gray than black and THIN material.

I have been working on my yard putting up lights, plants, bird feeders and wind chimes. I have lights along the patio and around my canopy but I still have areas in my yard that are dark. I don't like going out in complete darkness because you can't see what's there plus my dog is black and I don't want to run into her or trip over her. I was hoping to add some lights down the fence and then some more Edison lights from the edge of the patio to the fence, about 20ft. When I saw these Aredy String Light Poles available as a free promotional I ordered them. I have been working on my stepmother's house while she is in a living facility and the house faces south and by 11am there is no shade left. I purchased a large shade cloth and attached it to the L shape made up of the front of the house and the garage at a 90degree angle. This leaves one corner with no support. I decided to try these poles just to hold the shade on the one corner. I have no plans to place stress or weight on the poles, I did not pull the edge tight. The poles are fairly lightweight. They screw together easily. I did not use all of the pole sections because the higher I try to put it, the more weight will be on the poles. I put one pole into a large cement planter and the other one is attached to the side of a pickup, so both poles are holding the edge of the shade. I tried to put the fork into the ground at a slant but the dirt was not hard enough to keep it from moving around. Also at a slant, one of the tines bent. I don't think the corner of the shade cloth is any less heavy than a set of incandescent Edison lights, so if I use it for lights I'll have to make sure I use LED lights which are lighter. The poles look nice but like I said, they are fairly light. The are doing what I need them to do for now and once I get some lights I'll put them up and update the review when they're being used as they are intended.
