This is a warm and cozy winter hat that’s perfect for keeping your hair from going flat and sad beneath it. Though I’m not sure how it’ll hold up to static electricity — it’s not that time of year yet — I appreciate the satin lining that helps prevent hair breakage. (Ladies of all hair types and genetic backgrounds, your hair does NOT enjoy being rubbed directly against yarn!) Plus, the built-in brim is fabulous for where I live in high-altitude Colorado, given how strong the UV gets even in winter. It can protect my eyes from too much sun, as well as my face when I’m at risk of sunburn. I just wish the top of it had better stitching so that it would lay flat on my head. It’s a bit bumpy when wearing it, although perhaps that’ll smooth out a bit over time. Four stars for the one I received, but maybe yours will lay a bit flatter when worn. Please forgive the big speck of white lint in my photos, I didn’t realize it was on there when I went outside to take them in nice lighting. (Also, yeah, I’m wearing a basic t-shirt on a warm day — I’m sure this hat will look much nicer when worn with a fall or winter coat!)

It’s such a thoughtful feature that I wish all my hats came with it! The heavy knit fabric is cozy and warm, with enough stretch to comfortably cover the ears when needed, and the brim is both functional and stylish, offering some sun protection for winter walks or high-altitude living. While the overall design is solid, the fit might not work for everyone. For smaller heads, it can feel a bit oversized, making the brim and hat appear slightly bulky. The top stitching could also be better, as it can feel a little lumpy instead of laying flat on the head. That said, these minor issues don’t take away from the hat’s practicality and comfort.
