Great Honda product and quality. Love it. Very light weight. The seller was great and I recommend them. It is much quieter than conventional gasoline powered generators. My only take away is it not as quiet as claimed by Honda. They say ~50 dB. The NIOSH app on my cell phone said 79 dB. Not sure which number is real or if somewhere in between but its a little louder than I hoped but still recommend. ... show more

This is my second one same model. The first one lasted 25 years. And was still kind of working when I replaced it. That's being run daily on a sailboat 4 at least 4 hours per day. Quiet. You don't even know it's running.

    • Getting it to start, the pull rope will not move more than 4 inches
I filled the oil and gas, then tried to start the generator. The pull rope would not come out more than a few inches. I have 3 other Honda generators, I wanted the 1000 watt because its lighter to move around at ball parks

The Honda 1000 effortlessly pumps 50A at 12VDC into my boat's 200AH Renology LIFEPO4 house battery. I use 2 Victron 25A smart chargers. It's so efficient, available when needed, beats solar panels or wind generator.

This is a good quality product. It is probably the quietest generator on the market but it still makes noise i.e. no using it at night in a quiet campground. Only 900 watts continuous so make sure you have small loads. We use it mostly to charge batteries on the rv
