Honda tends to be the gold standard for small generators. Light weight, enough power to run my travel trailer AC and very very quiet. Though it may be a little more expensive than some, the features, size, weight, and quietness are worth the price. One other thing is the height is low enough to easily carry in my truck with a bed cap. I have since converted this to a tri-fuel setup and it runs great on propane. Would recommend and would buy again. The Companion is the right configuration to buy as a first generator for a travel trailer. Easy to get a locking adapter to a 30A trailer connection. I received the Honda 2200iTAN1 generator on July 22 before noon ahead of Amazon scheduled. The package delivered to my front door in good shape. Went ahead tested it out after adding engine oil and gasoline. It was not starting when I pull the ignition coil but then realized the carb choke was in open position after looking up the users manual. After move it the close position then the generator finally started after 2-3 pulls. It runs very quite. I wish Honda put better icons or letter on top of the choke level so user won't be frustrated like me. Overall it is a excellent product and I am sure I will enjoy the cool portal AC , a 10,000BTU unit with this generator. Will consider a second unit next year. ... show more

I purchased a generator and ran it for one hour and it ran perfectly. I shut it down and then tried to start it again the next day and it would not start at all. I brought it to an authorized Honda repair facility in Port Charlotte called Abel Marine and they said that it was probably sold after having bad gas sit in it and that the valve was stuck and tarnished. I told them I did not believe that and that the gas I had in it was perfectly fine because it ran in both my outboard and my spare generator but they would not acquiesce and it cost me $250 for the repair on an item that should've been under warranty. They also tried to blame the seller stating that they had probably sold it prior and then received it back and the bad gas sat. I don't believe that but I can tell you one thing I will never buy another Honda as long as I live. ... show more
