  • Works in a 2001 Accord EX
This was the Honda OEM part, so it fit perfectly, no leaks. You'll need a 10mm wrench and 10mm socket, a Phillips screwdriver. First, drain the antifreeze coolant (and take to a recycling facility). Second, remove the air filter cover and tube, disconnect the various tubes etc. You will need the 10mm socket for the top screw of the thermostat housing, and the 10mm wrench for the bottom screw - you won't be able to see it but you can feel it with your hand right behind the clamp and bigger black tube. Then pry it open and make sure you replace the thermostat with the jiggly thing on top, the rubber protrusions will also need to align). Once you have everything put back together, fill in the radiator with new antifreeze, crank up the engine, turn on the heat at maximum, and fill in new antifreeze until full after the cooling fans start spinning. Make sure you replace the antifreeze in the overflow container. You're done, shouldn't take more than 1.5-2 hours at the most and it was an easy DYI. Good luck. ... show more

  • Get this thermostat and not aftermarket. No disappointment. OEM product.
Update - I bought another one for my now 94 honda accord and I'm still impressed as ever at the quality. OE part with no issues. Everyone don't be cheap, pay the extra money and get the OE thermostat. At least you know it won't fail you in a couple weeks and have to do the job all over again. This is a Honda OEM part that came in Honda's part packaging. The real deal. I got it for my 93 Honda accord. I'd highly advise getting over any aftermarket thermostat. I know it probably sounds crazy like a gimmick but trust me. It's not. It actually solved my overheat problem when I thought it was a head gasket or water pump. Neither of which is fun getting into. ... show more

  • Legit oem
I thought I was having air flow issues of some sort in the engine bay. Turns out the parts store gave me a thermostat that opened at higher Temps than oem. Before changing it out it would reach Temps up to 205f now it stays under 190f. Part was installed in a 95 integra motor with no issues. Would highly recommend this thermostat if you are in the market for one. This is a legit oem part. Has info engraved on the actual thermostat. Beware of FAKE OEM thermostats. 9 times out of 10 if the price is too good to be true, Issa fake. Always check the actual thermostat for stamping of the temperature it operates at ... show more

  • Genuine Honda part, fits 2003 Civic Ex, easily installed
Replaced a generic version when 2003 Civic engine was overheating, but no heat was coming out of interior vents. OEM parts are always worth the extra few dollars, especially for Hondas. The old thermostat was stuck closed, not allowing coolant to circulate from engine to radiator. Tips: 1) Install the rubber gasket with the notch directly over the jiggle pin. 2) the two rubber "nubs" on the gasket go on the spring side of the thermostat and will fit into slots on the thermostat housing when you install. When properly fitted, the jiggle pin is at 12 o'clock. 3) once thermostat is installed and the bolts are tightened, check all your radiator hoses for leaks and tighten all hose clamps 4) start engine cold with radiator cap off. Add 50/50 mix of antifreeze and water a little at a time until radiator is full. 5) replace radiator cap 6) when engine reaches operating temperature, turn on your heat to ensure that the hot coolant from the engine is circulating through the radiator and the heater core. 7) There are many YouTube videos that will show you how to do this simple repair. ... show more

  • Seller extremely responsive
This supplier went above and beyond; the first thermostat failed to work properly. They promptly sent a new part with a return label for the failed part. All this transpired within the same week. This is the first time I've had a Honda part be defective, most unusual.

  • original honda
original part with excellent original gasket. New thermostat worked well with no leaks. Solved a problem where the engine temperature gauge would not show warm engine and the car would idle high. New thermostat caused engine to warm up fast and caused idle to slow into the correct range.

  • Perfect fit for my 1997 Civic
The inner O ring came off and kept the thermostat open. The car was not making much heat as a result. This part was a perfect fit. It's currently winter in Illinois so we need all the heat we can get!

  • Perfect fit
This Honda brand thermostat fit like a glove. This stat is a pain to change so I went with Honda brand so I didn't have to worry about an after market stat failing and doing the job over.
