This arrived within a few days. Packaged very well. I put this together by myself in about 2.5 hours. 1/2 hour was clean up of Styrofoam lol. Sturdy piece. Well made and fairly easy directions. The color is a creamy off white but I'm very happy with it. The drawer goes all the way thru both sides. Pics above are front and back (which are similar). Don't hesitate to buy this. Like several reviewers! I looked a dozens and dozens of kitchen carts before finding this one. It was exactly the size we were looking for. PROS -shipping was prompt and table was the furniture components were well packed with no damage. Assembly went smoothly with no major problems. Everything was packaged and labeled well. All parts were inculed. Directions were clear. Needed two people at times but a good number of the steps could be completed by an individual. It took two reasonably handy people about an hour and forty minutes. The island looks exactly as pictured. This is a VERY solid piece of furniture. It looks very classy and both my husband and I feel that it elevates the look of the entire kitchen. We had originally wanted black, but after thinking how awful the top of the black stove and microwave show dust, we decided to go with the white one. I was somewhat concerned that the wood might be too much wood. We have natural woodwork, cabinets, table and chairs. But it is a big room and the island looks just great. We are very, very please with this purchase. CONS- the size of the shelves was a little disappointing. The heights between the shelves vary a little, but are all around six inches. The width between the columns is 14 inches. The depths range from 6 1/2 to 9 inches. The drawer is three inches deep and holds a lot. But it seems like there is wasted space in the top that might have nicely accommodated two drawers. The drawer opens from both sides. That is neither good nor bad, but worth noting. I am not sure if it is in the product description. VALUE- We are thrilled with this island and recommended it very highly. It cost more than almost all of the other carts, etc. that we looked at, but this is a much higher quality than every thing we saw in person and worth every penny. ... show more

This is very nice and sturdy - perfect for the kitchen area. The shelves are a bit smaller than I thought but it is absolutely beautiful. I wish it would have come in some other colors or maybe one that could have been painted. However, great buy - very happy.

This Kitchen island is very sturdy and easy to assemble. Its one you can lean on and looks and feels like old country farm island that is heavy and sturdy and usable for so many things. We love it and actually sit at it for a quick bite or coffee. You won't be disappointed.

I have had this island for about 5 months now and I absolutely love it! I searched far and wide for kitchen islands before committing to the Americana Kitchen Island, and then researched price via dozens of online vendors. Amazon was by far the least expensive. As the other reviewers have stated, the island arrived in two extremely heavy boxes. I was a little worried about the wood getting dinged up during the shipping process, but the pieces were packaged very securely in styrofoam and foam sheets. From the opening of the boxes to the last step, assembly took my husband and I less 2 hours. The instructions were very easy to follow! I am very pleased with the quality of this piece --- it's extremely sturdy and an amazing value, not to mention gorgeous! It easily passes as high-end and nobody would guess that I got it for just under $360! The only thing I would change would be to put the drawer on some sort of track system. Because it opens from both sides of the island, the drawer just kind of sits in the drawer slot. It can look a little crooked if you don't slide it back in just-so, but it's not a major issue. That being said, it's really nice to have access from both sides so you don't have to walk around to get what you need. The enclosed shelves can also be accessed from either side, and I was really surprised at how much storage space there was! Our house is now under contract to be sold and this island was requested to remain in the home on all the offers that we received. It really became the centerpiece of the kitchen and gave it the finishing touch it always seemed to be missing. As soon as I am in my new home I will absolutely be ordering another one! ... show more
