I got this because, when I write the first draft of my novels, it is longhand in notebooks, and I generally sit outside because I have a couple cigarettes (the only time I smoke). I hate smoking in the house, but fall came and now winter is approaching and I find myself freezing sitting on the porch to write. I decided to move my writing to my office. But I do NOT want any smell of cigarettes in my office or anywhere in the house. So, I got this little device. My office is small, and I only smoke a few cigarettes, so I didn't need anything too overpowering. Before this machine came in, I tried sitting in my office with the window that is by me open and a window fan blowing out to suck any smoke outside. Even doing that, plus high-end air spray and even leaving the room to air out, I could still smell the traces of smoke the next day. Once I got this device in place, I have had NO smoke smell left over. I do still open the window with a window fan drawing the "second-hand" smoke out, and I do still use the air freshener, same as before, with this Ionic Air Purifier, there is not even a TRACE of cigarette smell. Actually, it seems to work well with the air spray I use and keeps the room smelling fresher than it did before.

I ordered this for my mother's room, after reading several positive reviews I decided to go for it, the first shipment for some reason didn't arrive or maybe it was delivered to the wrong address, customer service delivered exceptional service and provided me with a second replacement, I didn't want to leave a review right away so I waited a few weeks, I can say that we definitely notice the air quality and my mother is also is able to sleep better at nights I'm not saying it's the best but definitely does what it supposed to for your bucks I highly recommend this product...

This air purifier works well, but only for small spaces like a desk or a corner of a room. I think some of these reviews wanted to buy this to save money and expected something that would purify a huge bedroom. That’s not what this is for. You can definitely see the filter is dirty with pet hair and dust when it’s replaced. The light is a bit bright, so I simply have a little tag from an old stuffed animal I use to cover it. Not a big deal! These reviews people act like it’s a huge problem to find a sticky note or piece of cardboard. I cover the light when I’m sleeping. I personally don’t mind the almost silent hum and leave it close to my bed because I like to hear it. It is very quiet. If you think it’s loud, it is probably because you have it crooked. The fan will make noise if Something is not in place. I’ve noticed it makes noise after I put a new filter in. But I’ll just tighten it and then it’s quiet. Overall it is a great little purifier for small spaces. I think the reviews people want some big room cleaned and purchased this because it was the cheapest. This little machine does well for what it can- small areas. I keep it by my bed and it would also work in a small office space. For big rooms and large pet dander things, this probably isn’t for you and you’ll have to spend more for what you need, as expected…..

I like this purifier so much I've bought 3 now. The price is right, and they do exactly what they're supposed to. I live in a 100-year-old house and naturally it comes with a variety of "interesting" odors. For the most part it's not a big deal, but there are problem areas. I also have a cat and while he's remarkably clean, the litter box always smells. I like this air purifier because it's small, portable, and great for focusing on one room or area (which is why I purchased 3). Right now I have one tucked in my son's room near his diaper pail, one tucked in our bathroom and near the cat box, and one in my office. For that last one, I'm able to pick it up and move it if I need it in another area, say in the living room while hanging out with friends and family. While it'd be nice to purchase a larger HEPA air purifier, for the same price as 1 of those I was able to buy 3 of these and honestly, these work great. Have had the first one for almost a year now and it still runs like an absolute champ.

I have used a HEPA machine for decades . . . back when they were 5' tall x 1' wide. Love the new desktop models. I primarily use a desktop HEPA for traveling. Those annoying guests that allow their doors to slam behind them, the late TV watchers in the adjacent room and those that just forget they aren't at home with the rudeness of noise in the halls at all hours. I purchased this to replace one that I have had for several years now . . . which is no longer a viable model. My thoughts: 1. Great size . . . smallest I have found to date. 2. Power . . . this unit does not have a cord built into the unit. In other words, you plug the cord into the unit on the bottom. The problem with any device that doesn't have a cord built into the unit is you tend to have less power to the device as well as power interruptions due to the lack of a clean meeting of the plug in portion to the unit itself. This unit sounded emitted a soft inconsistent whrring, akin to a small power surge every now and again . . . what I attribute to the cord design. 3. Noise. My previous HEPA made a nice, white noise whirring sound. It faded into the background as you would expect. However, the unit I received whirred, but every 3 or 4 seconds, it made a soft fan adjusting noise. Sorry . . . that's a deal breaker for me. Returning this unit.
