It took about a week for me to be 95% sure that I will keep these nightstands! They are solid, have a lot of solid wood components, and have a versatile style. Don't look like cheap disposable furniture... I expected a dull distressed white, maybe even off-white. These change appearance depending on lighting. In natural sunlight they pick up a greenish yellowish tint. In cool light, they seem more neutral. I like them best with lamp light with a warm (2700k) bulb. In photo, the quilt is a true white, the sheets a tan.... Putting them together is tedious. I didn't mind. The idea of disassembling it may have an influence on decision to return! ... show more

This item is cream colored, NOT white as described. Also, the directions have you stand the back with added front pieces on end to locate into one side panel. Bad idea! There will be gnashing of teeth and a few bad words expressed with this approach. Not to mention possible broken front pieces. Do not add all the KD screws to the panels in step 1 which will connect the top (A) later. Then you can keep the back and front pieces in the correct position to simply add the sides. Then tip the staple assembly on its back or upside down to add the bottom. After that you can add those screws from step 1 and place the top. ... show more

This is definitely one of the nicest dressers I’ve purchased. That said, it was also one of the most difficult to assemble and for the cost should already be assembled. So I love this I have the whole set! But the dresser came with a HUGE crack in the top (not small alllllll the way down the top piece) I was soooo ticked off! Then the tracks for the drawers are off so the drawers are offset on the tracks, one won’t close right and the other two have to be maneuvered to pull out. This dresser is very heavy. I'm glad I had a dolly to lift and move the boxes. There wasn't any damage and the packaging was impressive. My wife helped me hold the pieces while I did the fasteners. I did used my cordless drill to install the many screws but leaving just enough screw out so I could tighten it by hand and not strip the wood with the drill. This saved a lot of time and stress on my hand. I assembled the dresser in the room it is in due to the weight, and did the drawers as I had time in the family room. It helps if you have put other furniture together. This is not a good one for a beginner. It is really a nice looking piece. ... show more

I was searching for furniture for my guest bedroom - headboard, chest, and 2 night stands - and came across Homestyles furniture. What caught my attention was the use of solid wood, not composites. There was a variety of collection styles and I decided on Seaside Lodge. Assembly was relatively easy - sub-assemblies were already completed. Drawer rails are already in place, side panels are complete, the hidden pieces in the top and base are complete, The back panel is attached with screws, not nails. (If you have put together some other brands that use nails, you know what I am referring to,) The paint finish is a durable sheen, ready to take some normal wear and tear.
