The product worked very well after I received it. However, after not using it for several months I discovered that I was no longer able to open it with the combination and that the only way to do so was by using a key that came with it. Thinking that the batteries may have died, I installed new ones, but to no avail. I contacted the manufacturer and was told that I'd have to pay shipping both ways and possibly repair costs as well since I purchased it more than 30 days earlier.     • WORST SAFE PURCHASE EVER!!
I have terminal brain cancer and need to lock up my meds so my handicapped son won't get into them. The 3rd time (in 2 days) I went to open it the lever/knob would not work. The code beeped that it was the correct code and I even tried the keys and there was no possible way of getting into it. I contacted Amazon who referred me to the company selling the safe and when I explained the situation I was very rudely told that I voided the warranty by breaking into it...I guess they expected me to just have the seizures for the days it took then to answer my question.     • Quality control missed this one!
Seems easy enough to use. Press one red button put in a code and that's your code to open the Box. The problem I had with a mine was someone who ever made it didn't measure it properly enough and the door was too long on the one side and I couldn't get the Box open at all without prying it with a knife. Luckily, my husband is handy in his Workshop. He had to grind the metal down so that the door could open and close with ease. In reading some of the other reviews, I wonder what they expected. This is not a gun safe, this is a document safe/lock box.Its the perfect size for storing important documents, insurance papers, deeds, dvd backups, etc. Plus it's small enough you can put it just about anywhere. Only real complaint I have with it is the mounting screws that come with it. In all honestly they are cheap. I went to Home Deport spent less than $10 and got a couple of 1/4 inch bolts, washers and nuts. ... show more

Do not purchase this. It is lighter than a shoebox and very cheaply made. I am returning it. It weighs next to nothing and the controls are very cheap. I think you could break into this in about 15 seconds with minimal effort. Spend more to get a higher quality item.

Safe description is false and misleading. Basic steel box enclosure, has no fire resistant concrete, fiberglass, or fire brick lining. The box is not UL listed, and has no fire rating time limit (I.e., 30 minutes @1200 degrees).

This safe is the perfect bedroom safe. It easily fits in a closet and has plenty of room to store important documents, jewelry, weapons, cash, and more. I personally use this safe to store important documents for my family. The safe has an electronic keypad powered by batteries. The keypad helps unlock the safe with a PIN, you have the option to choose your own PIN and even change it in the future if you choose to. The safe also comes with a key that can bypass the PIN and that can also be used in case the batteries in the safe deplete. Overall the safe feels quite sturdy and even has mounting holes to secure it to your home's wall studs for extra security. Safe is exactly what is advertised. My only difficulty was in finding the red button for use when you set your numeric code to open the door. It is behind the battery door, inside, where the batteries get installed. Once I took the battery door off and looked, it is readily visible. Before I closed and locked the door, I entered my code and turned the handle a couple of times. Then I closed the door, made sure it was locked, and entered my code, turned the handle, and opened the door. Worked each and every time. Not excessively heavy, but seems secure. At some point, I will further secure it by attaching it permanently so it cannot be picked up and walked off with. ... show more
