I had to return the first order, being the included instructions was in such small print and not written with clear directions, I was unable to get the item to sync with my network. I called tech support and unfortunately they were no help at all. I returned the first system and received a 2nd system to which provided a much better experience in setup and installation. The instructions were very different than what I received initially in the 1st package. These instructions were clear and very easy to follow. I had the base unit connected to my network within just a few minutes. Once connected, the external sensors were also easy the link to the base unit, using the app I downloaded to my phone. There's still some features I haven't been able to activate, yet being I just haven't taken the time to program. Has of now, I use the included remote to turn on and off the system. It's a very basic system. The motion sensor is responsive. I found it's best used when at home, while sleeping to alert if someone that shouldn't be in my home. Overall, I do like this system, but it does have limitations...

I bought this to replace my Simplisafe system. I was with them for 10 years, and the system was just unreliable. It would lose network connection all of the time. I was paying a monthly fee of $32 for something that barely worked. I then came across this system at an affordable price and thought I'd give it a shot. It does everything my old Simplisafe system does except notify someone that emergency services are needed. But with push notifications to my phone, that service is not needed. Paired with my home security cameras, I am able to see if a trigger is legit and call local authorities on my own without the monthly fee. Setup was kind of a pain, to be honest. I set up everything following the included instructions and one of my sensors kept giving off false alarms. I thought it was a faulty sensor, so I removed it and tried to install a replacement as this unit came with way more entry sensors than I needed. Well, removing the faulty one caused all of my sensors minus the motion sensors to stop working. So, I had to wipe the slate clean and start over from scratch. Super annoying! But after that, the system works flawlessly and I really do like it over my Simplisafe setup. There is an option to add a SIM so that the system will call you and whomever else you want it to call during a trigger, so I am seriously considering that by going the MVNO route. That would still make this unit way cheaper than the $32 I was paying for something that barely worked anyway. And the siren is built into the keypad, but do not let that discourage you. It is super loud!

The app is crap. It works, but its primary goal is to get you to buy tons of other home automation stuff. Not terribly user friendly. The window/door sensors seem fine. The main control unit is sort of funky. The remote key fobs are fine. It is just all sort of cheap. I haven't much use for the motion sensors, but they actually look reasonable. Overall, it works. I am not signing up for the remote monitoring. If I needed that, I would NOT buy this system. That is about the best I can say for it. I give it 3 stars because it mostly works fine.

This DIY home alarm system is pretty decent, the alarm was really easy to install and fairly easy to setup, the manual is pretty much straight forward and easy to read, the system came with 10 door or window sensors, 2 motion detection sensors and 4 keyfob like remote controls, the system works really well, I had no issues with any of the sensors after installing them and pairing them to the control panel, the contral panel is also easy to use and the alarm on the control panel is super loud, I have a pretty good sized home and I can easily hear the alarm when I am clear on the other side of my house, all of the sensors are wireless with a built-in battery, the control panel on the other hand does need to be plugged in to an power source, it does have a built-in battery but its only used in case of a power outage, they do included a USB power cord and the power brick, the power cord could be a bit longer though, I did end up having to use a USB extension cord in order to reach the nearest plug, one of the features that I really like is that the system has wifi and works via the Smart Life App, so the alarm will send a push notification to your cellphone phone if the alarm is triggered, you can also arm and disarm the alarm through the app, all in all I am pretty happy with this alarm system, It is definetly not a high-end professional alarm system, but for a DIY low cost system it works, so in my opinion it's a pretty good value for the price.

Bought this as an inexpensive alternative to a monitored system. It was reasonably easy for my husband to set up & we’re happy with all the included components (sensors, keys & RFID keys). Though the volume is a bit loud we’re happy that we can monitor the system while away.
