I strongly suggest that you use a drill with bits. Buy a set of allen wrench bits and philip screw bits. It comes with an allen wrench, but not a screwdriver which you will need. But a drill will save you so much time and wear and tear on your wrist and fingers. I can not image doing all that by hand with an allen wrench and screw driver. You get wiser when you get older...lol. It took my wife and I about 3-4 hours to put it together. The holes are all pre-drilled and labeled. The directions are pictures with the labels and it's easy to follow. There was one missing step which we figured out after it was all done. The center inside upright needs two screws in the bottom of it, not on the directions we had. I wondered why I had three screws of that size left over. (They include one extra screw in most sets, great idea!) Also, one of the door hinges had two incorrect holes. I had to drill two new holes out of the four that are predrilled. The two inner holes were correct but the two outer holes were not. Not an issue though. If you're not handy, it might be but my guess is that this was a fluke and most are correct. Both were very minor problems. The casters are quality (as much as I know about casters), two with breaks. Now that it's all done, we highly recommend this unit. I can't speak of it's longevity but so far it looks great and is very sturdy. I'm sure we'll love it for many years to come.

I love this cart! I was looking for extra storage space for my kitchen that could double as a breakfast nook of sorts and this fits the bill. It was easy to put together although the directions were all pictures/diagrams...NO words of explanation. If you have trouble following diagrams without any words of explanation this might be a bit problematic. I am one who thoroughly reads all the directions and follows them explicitly. So, I was a bit skeptical at the outset. But to this manufacturers credit, there were no missing or damaged pieces and the diagrams were pretty easy to follow. All the hardware, screws, hinges, etc were in small plastic bags well labeled to match the diagrams. I can’t believe how easily it all went together. It did take two 2 1/2 hours for us to assemble it. You will definitely need an extra pair of hands to hold the three large sections in place while adding the support bars and for placing the butcher block top with drop-down leaf (which are hinged together before putting in place). The top and drop leaf are pretty heavy to pick up and place correctly without help. Also using a power drill rather than a screw driver made the whole process go much more quickly. We decided to leave off the spice rack at the end and also changed the silver hardware to black to match all our knobs and drawer pulls in our newly renovated kitchen. We had four black knobs leftover from the renovation, so that worked out perfectly. I purchased two black cup drawer pulls from Lowe’s to finish the look. I plan to use the drop down leaf as our eating spot with bar stools for seating. After using it for a while, we may decide to add one of the leftover sides of the spice rack as extra support for the drop leaf. I think it will be easy enough to add a hinge and add it to the middle under the leaf. I am using this to store some of my appliances so my counter-tops will not be so full. See pictures I have included. Overall, I am very pleased with this rolling island and look forward to using it for years to come.

It is a beautiful island! It took two of us almost 5 hours to put together. There were two sets of predrilled holes that had to be changed which required leveling and measuring as it was the drawer hardware. If you are looking for strong sturdy and be able to hold a lot of stuff in the drawers, the bottom is a bit flimsy. The shelves are sturdy and the doors and the drawers themselves are strong. The back looks a bit unfinished but not bad. It would be nice to have a solid piece that makes a flat finish. The top is nice but not high quality. For the price it is GREAT! It is working well for us. I will update as time goes on.

Very happy when item arrived 4 days before expected. Was very easy to assemble by myself. I did need to drill new holes for the hinges that hold the drop leaf section due to the pre drilled holes not lining up properly, also need to be careful when tightening the smaller screws. Doesn't take much pressure to sheer off the heads of the screws. These two issues were very minor, and I had the assembly completed in just under 4 hours, and that was even with my going slow and taking my time with it. Due to the size of my kitchen, I did have to leave the end spice rack and towel bar off of it. Looks really great and love the added storage and extra prep space for when I am preparing baked goods. Would be nice if they included white plugs to fit into the screw holes so it looks complete, but all in all, I am very happy with this drop leaf center island.

Of the three vertical pieces, the middle one wasnt made right. I had to take a saw to it to get it to assemble. As my wife and I were scratching our heads, we took the sawzall to it. It seems to be that the middle piece wasnt set right in their jig and everything was about 3/4 of an inch off. We had to cut a bunch of it and re-drill all of the holes on that panel. It would have been great and easy to assemble if we didnt have to modify half of it to get it to get it together.

ABSOLUTELY beautiful kitchen cart! I formerly had a bakers rack that always looked cluttered and messy. This has been a PERFECT replacement! Very very pleased. Assembly does take some time, so be patient. It also helps to have 2 people to do the assembly as well as the correct tools (both obvious components to assembling products with multiple pieces). Overall I HIGHLY recommend this product. Be sure to read ALL the instructions. I noticed one review mentioned that the cabinet doors were crooked. In the directions it tells you how to adjust the doors for proper alignment. Storage is fantastic. Very sturdy. And extremely pleasing to the eye.
