These engineered wood products can be fragile and a little creaky once put together. This arrived very well and securely packaged in two (heavy: 50-60 pounds each) boxes. There was one small crack in one of the pieces, but I think it will not matter now that the cabinet is assembled; nor does it show. Instructions are fairly clear if you are familiar with Ikea style picture instructions. All of the many pieces were there. I like the appearance and pieces are pretty well aligned. Not perfect, but acceptable in the pantry. It feels pretty sturdy. Only assembly issue is that the holes for the magnetic holders are not aligned quite right. I used wood filler on one of the holes and redrilled it. I assembled the bottom by myself, but it really helped to have another person when I did the top part of the cabinet. Be careful when installing the connector pieces across the front. It's easy to secure them backwards. Double check the drawings and your installation of all the pegs and fasteners. Also, easy to miss the "T" screws that go into place before the magnetic holders. My "improvement" is that I added some plywood to the bottom and added 2" casters so I can move it for cleaning or re-arranging the room. I moved recently and my kitchen is much smaller than the one I left. Consequently, I have much less cabinet storage, so I purchased this cabinet. My son-in-law and I put it together and it's wonderful. He was the master mind, I was the go-fer and I believe it was pretty easy to assemble. It's a quality product. This product comes in two boxes, which weren’t delivered on the same day, but almost a week apart. Assembly wasn’t too bad, but the pieces don’t align very well. It eventually fit together and is alright. Some of my top pieces seem to be curved a bit so the cabinet doors done line up properly. May move it to the utility room eventually but it works fine for an extra pantry. ... show more

We didn’t expect top quality at this price point; however, this is the worst piece of furniture requiring assembly we’ve purchased over the years. It doesn’t meet reasonable expectations of function or appearance. We were relieved our 2 big, heavy boxes full of parts arrived w/o major damage, but that’s where the positives ended. The negatives started with all the crumbly Styrofoam packing that clings to everything. PAINT: If you look at the attached photo, of the 5 front panels, there are 3 distinctly different shades of black. The extremely thin paint also mars, scrapes, nicks, and scratches easily, revealing a bright white undercoating. Many of the parts also had sloppy paint defects, and some areas missing paint. PARTS QUALITY: Despite what some reviewers indicate, there is no solid wood. Furthermore, engineered wood comes in different quality categories, and weight doesn’t translate to the level of quality. These pieces are made of lower quality particle board that easily crumbles, chips, breaks, or strips during handling/assembly. Other parts are compressed paper, and the back is simply thin cardboard. It’s easy to over-tighten screws and cam posts, stripping out the material. It’s like putting screws directly into wallboard w/o anchors or a 2x4, and expecting they will hold your heavy mirror or wall art. And its unforgiving if you have to remove screws and re-insert them; you will find their hold compromised. ASSEMBLY: We’ve put together furniture for decades, but this was the most arduous, unpleasant ordeal, made more so by no written directions or precautions—only muddy, insufficient images that don’t indicate orientation, i.e., front/back, up, down. You will inevitably run into issues you will have to figure out on your own. It's easy to install something backwards, upside down, or in reverse. Some steps are not in logical/intuitive order. Assembly requires 2 people. Some parts require one person to hold them stable and perfectly aligned while the other fastens them. STURDINESS: Despite its heavy weight, this cabinet is not sturdy. It’s not made for moving around, even when empty. It’s relatively shaky/wobbly when put together, and it doesn’t take much stress for the cam locks and screws to break out the particle board. The short, loose-fitting wood dowels in some places mainly help align parts and do little to add stability. Furthermore, the heavy shelves are not properly supported so not designed to hold much additional weight. ADDITIONAL INFO: If you choose to take your chances, remember this item has many parts and is delivered in 2 large, very heavy boxes. Good luck trying to get them all back into those boxes exactly as they were packed (they will not fit otherwise) and then return them. Assemble it near where it will be placed. Do not use a drill/driver, or expect stripping out the particle board. Use a screwdriver, but cautiously. A ratchet-type screwdriver will help save your wrists. The cams require #3 Phillips head, everything else #2. Add liners to the shelves prior to placing anything on them because the paint damages easily and becomes unsightly otherwise. I would also advise adding L brackets under the shelves if you intend for them to hold anything heavier than paper products or cereal. It doesn’t come with levelers, so you will likely need shims if you want it level. This is the first and last of this brand we will ever purchase. 1 PART ARIVED BROKEN. I CALLED CUSTERMER SERVICE, HE WAS ON POINT, IT WAS FED EX IN FEW DAYS TO ME. THE ITEMS IS WELL DESIGNED HOWEVER I ALWAY APPLY WOOD GLUE TO THE DOWLS AND THE FRAME.
