High quality and very comfortable
I rarely write reviews but am so impressed by this product’s quality and comfort that I needed to share. The futon mattress arrived compressed so it was easy to transport. After removing the plastic, it immediately regained its shape. The included cover is soft and the memory foam layer made it very comfortable to sit and sleep on. There was no smell or “off-gassing” as I’ve noticed with similar products. The futon mattress converts very easily from bed to sofa because it’s actually two pieces connected by a seam. Highly recommended!

Comfortable and attractive
Very comfortable and attractive futon mattress. It is listed as gray but when the light is just right it looks like a dark navy blue. It expanded immediately to 8 inches as soon as I unpacked it.

Verify size before order
The mattress was very nice and comfortable but few inches too long for my futon.

Comfortable Futon Mattress
I like that this futon mattress is thick enough to add a good layer of cushioning without being overly bulky. The memory foam feels comfortable and makes it a nice option for both sitting and sleeping. I also appreciate the foldable design since it makes the mattress easier to use with a futon or daybed and more convenient to store when needed. The full-size dimensions give plenty of room for one person to stretch out comfortably. Overall, it’s a practical option for creating a more comfortable futon or occasional guest sleeping space.

Finally a futon mattress thick enough that the frame stays mostly anonymous! 😀
I’ve used enough futons to know that some of them seem designed primarily to remind you that floors are hard. This HOMBYS 8-inch mattress is thankfully a much more comfortable specimen. After unpacking it, setting it up, and giving it time to settle into shape, it had a substantial feel without becoming ridiculously cumbersome. The cushioning is supportive enough for sitting and comfortable enough that I wouldn’t feel guilty offering it to an overnight guest. I especially like the split folding design because it behaves properly when switching between sofa and bed duty. It bends where it is supposed to instead of putting up a wrestling match every time I reposition it. As a couch mattress, it provides enough padding that I don’t immediately notice the frame underneath. When laid flat, the full-size 75 by 54 inch sleeping surface gives an adult a reasonable amount of room. The memory foam has a nice balance between softness and support, rather than swallowing me like an upholstered quicksand pit. It rebounds reasonably well after sitting or sleeping on it, and the mattress feels evenly padded from one section to another. The overall construction has held up well through repeated folding, unfolding, sitting, lounging, and sleeping. It also works nicely as a floor mattress when I need an extra temporary sleeping spot. For the money, this is a practical way to make a futon or compatible daybed considerably more useful. Just remember that this listing is for the mattress, not the frame, so you’ll need your own suitable setup if you plan to use it as a sofa. I like that it can serve several purposes without feeling like it was mediocre at all of them. It has become a comfortable, versatile option for sitting during the day and turning into an extra bed when needed. Great value for the price and quality! ✅

The split fold is what sold me
My den has an old futon frame that gets folded flat maybe twice a week, and every mattress I've put on it has fought that bend. Bunching in the middle, sliding forward, a hump right where the frame hinges. Solving that was the only job I needed done. This one is split. When I push the frame down into bed position, the two sections drop with it instead of arching against each other. No hump. Folding it up for the day takes one hand now, which was never true before. The 8 inch build is 2 inches of gel memory foam over 6 inches of firmer base: the top gives at the shoulder, the bottom doesn't let you sink through to the slats. I gave it the full 72 hours before trusting the height. It came back to a true 8 inches. At 75 by 54 it sat on my full-size frame with no overhang and no gap at the corners. It's really well put together and durable. The cover unzips along the side, the fabric hasn't pilled anywhere I sit most, and the price is fair, its a good size and its comfortable without being too firm. Five stars because the one thing I wanted fixed is fixed, and nothing about the build has given me a reason to hedge.

Competitively priced, extremely comfortable, and far more convenient than a traditional mattress.
My kids often have sleepovers and, up until we picked this up, we’ve been dragging the spare king-sized mattress from our guest bedroom into whichever kid’s room was hosting. Not only was that a pain, but it took up a ton of space and was awkward to move around. This full-size futon mattress has completely solved that problem. It’s incredibly comfortable thanks to the memory foam construction and it’s exponentially easier to move because of its size and the fact that it folds in half. When it’s not being used, it can be folded up and tucked away without taking over an entire room. The mattress itself is very soft and comfortable. In fact, after my son’s last sleepover, the mattress stayed in his room for a few days afterward and he chose to sleep on this instead of his own bed. That alone speaks volumes about how comfortable it is. I also appreciate how easy it is to keep clean. The removable brushed microfiber cover feels great and can be taken off for cleaning whenever needed, which is especially important when kids are involved. The tie strings at each corner do a great job securing the mattress to a futon frame, preventing it from shifting around during use. What I really appreciate is the versatility. While it works perfectly with a futon frame, it can also be used directly on the floor. That’s actually how we use it most of the time. Whether it’s for sleepovers, guests, movie nights, or even temporary sleeping arrangements, it adapts to whatever you need. Overall, I’m extremely satisfied with this mattress. It’s competitively priced, comfortable, easy to clean, easy to move, and incredibly versatile. I highly recommend it.
