I really wanted a Trijicon SRS but they were discontinued, hard to find used, and had mixed reviews. My wants were... 2 moa dot with 65 or 68 moa ring, enclosed housing, 30mm or larger objective, long battery life, shake awake, and be it knife handles, edc flashlights, or scopes.... titanium is always a bonus. The HE530C checked every box... until... I saw... Made In Freaking China. This made me go back to the drawing board and reconsider aimpoint, eotech, and trijicon, but none of them have everthing I wanted. So I scrambled to rationalize buying a chinese optic for my ultra premium pcc build and settled on the fact that I commute in a 500 ftlb diesel BMW. The HE530C arrived in a day and as soon as I put the battery in, I knew I had made a mistake. I pressed the + and - buttons but nothing came on. I went to pack it up for return and decided to try a Duracell battery. Still nothing... so decided to read instructions... ah! I had the battery upside-down in the tray. Rectified that mistake and holy smoke what a defective optic!!! Three rings and six dots!!! Decided to return it and spend $1,000 on something that would work. Before taking the optic off I looked through it with my left eye and it was even worse... but different. Hmmm, rotated the rifle but the faulty reticle was in the same orientation. Oh rat farts... it's not the optic.. it's me! Again! Grabbed my wife's glasses and what a beautiful, sharp reticle it is. Just had an eye exam 2 months ago. 20/20 vision but I'm sniffin 50 and my eyes aren't what they used to be. Glad I didn't return this and guess it's time to get corrective shoot glasses.

Not taken it out and beat on it yet, however the look and feel are excellent and the unit seems of highest quality. The one drawback immediately noticed—since i’ve not handle Holosun 530’s before was the weight of the unit. My initial thought was to install farther up the rifle barrel, but no longer. It will be set back as close to the rear stock as possible so to keep the rifle balanced. Don’t buy if you are weight conscious. It may be of similar quality as the Trijicon T2, but the size and weight put it into a different class. I have Trijicon’s and this is a tank compared to the top of the line Holosun. The reticle is sharp and bright, and I live in AZ—so it’s got to be bright. If you’ve an astigmatism, you can wear corrective glasses easily and see through scope to target. Otherwise, without such corrective glasses you will see three closely superimpose dot/circle images. That still would not be a deal breaker if you are using the 65 moa large circle for close shooting. Far shooting with dot however becomes problematic. I’ll update if I have any further thoughts after sight-in.

I'm a big Fanboi of Holosun sights. For those who own the HE510C, this is not that. The Holosun website specs the weight of the (all Titanium) HE530C-GR to be 6.8 Oz. (See pic). When I opened the box and pulled this out, I thought "Huh, thats alot heavier than I was expecting". This hefts like a good 50mm riflescope. So, yup it's a completely enclosed tube type riflescope alright. My calibrated baggage weigher says it's 10 oz., every time out of 5 go's. OK, so my point is: it's not 6.8 oz. It's well built, I'm pretty sure it will take a beating and keep working. Very Bright reticle. The "Auto" brightness mode works the opposite what you might expect: In Auto mode, you set the *minimum* brightness for the reticle, for a darkened room. Then, the device will *brighten* as you move to brighter environment. That is, it brightens as the environment gets brighter, from your set minimum. I dont know if it represents "Value for Money", for me. I tried the HE515, and the tube was narrow enough to give me problems getting a sight picture rapidly. For that sight, one needs to train for the precise same cheek weld, every time. Otherwise, you will waste precious seconds finding the reticle in the tube field of view. Too Long. This HE530C is certainly Good To Go for field of view. It's very easy and rapid to pick up the reticle in the 30mm tube. Easy. But the tradeoff is weight. This thing feels like a brick if you are used to mounting a HE510C. But, not much different from hefting a riflescope. After all, thats what this is.

I took a chance on the Holosun 530C-RD sight. Yes it was a chance because there are very few reviews out on this sight. I am so glad I did! This is a fantastic sight. Right out of the box it is battle tough. Just as battle tough (from appearances) as my ACOG sights but with a different purpose. This is a short range sight. 100 maybe 200 yards max. That is what this sight was designed for, close range, like home defense. The controls are easy to use, and all you really have to do is leave it in automatic mode. It will switch from using its solar power to battery power as needed, and the reticule will auto adjust for brightness. You can use manual mode as well if the rare situation dictates a different brightness level. If you have never tried a 65MOA circle with a 2MOA dot in the middle you are missing out. This is SUPER fast to come on target. The cam lock quick release mount is just as tough as the sight, and zeroing was only a few shots to get it on target. The sight comes with see through flip up/down lens covers and a killflash on the front that I think is removable. You do not need to move the lens covers to effectively use the sight in a quick need scenario. All in all a Great value on a Titanium housed battle ready sight! 5 stars all around.

I would go to war with this equipment. Solid. Solar actually works. Accurate as can be. I have a stigmatism and this Reticle does not star out like eotech. I own both. And wish I had found this first. Lifetime warranty!!! Buy it. Holosun is about to be the new Eotech/trijicon. I run it on a 556 and 300 blackout with no problems. Clear glass and easy to use. I can't imagine how you'd be able to break this but if you do just remember LIFE TIME WARRANTY

Issues with reticule not lighting up. Turned it on. Brightness levels wouldn't adjust. Magically, it adjusted itself without moving into a different light source. Then, dot just went out. Garbage

The item I received had been previously used and was defective. Waiting on the replacement. Will update this review as soon as the replacement arrives in good working order. Replacement arrived, is new condition, and operates as it should. Would give it 5 stars had the first one I received not been defective. Would give the seller zero stars for trying to dump their defective returns on me. However, the system makes me give them at least 1 star.

Clear glass, very clear reticle (I have astigmatism). Mounting is very sturdy, battery tray was a bit stiff to remove, but it’s fine, you won’t be needing a new battery every year. Overall, awesome red dot!
