Purchased this in XS for my 11-year-old daughter who is 5'0 and about 90 lbs. There are no clear measurements for the skirt length in the item description. The skirt is actually 14 inches from top of waist band to hem. I hope this helps someone. I was hoping since this is adult item the skirt would be long enough for school but it is not. She is leggy and it hits well above her knee. The skirt is high waisted with a zipper closure and no elastic so no wearing it below the waist to add length. The fit in the waist is just right but with no room to grow. Her waist is about 24 inches. The skirt itself is very well made with nice material. I would say that the sizing chart in the description is just slightly off. Note: I took my measurements and checked my weight the same morning that I purchased this skirt. I base my sizing decisions on the sizing chart and never on reviews. Height: 5’ 1” (155 cm), Weight: 164 lbs (74 kg), Waist: 33.8” (86 cm), Hips: 44” (112). Purchased a US 12 (tag XXXL). On my body, the waist rested about 1 inch below my rib cage. This is sort of expected due to my height, and I’m not mad because I was looking for something high waisted. There was about a 1 inch gap at the waistline, but I don’t mind taking it in. It is not too short & the pleats stay folded all the way around the skirt (all of my big booty girls know how much of a struggle this can be with pleated skirts lol). The shorts underneath are very stretchy, comfortable, and they don’t ride up too much. The zipper is a tad difficult to get over the first seam, but then fine. I was a bit concerned that I might break it if I wasn’t gentle. The color (red) was exactly as pictured in the photos and the fabric seems like good quality (thicker than expected). I ironed it once I received it with a bit of starch and steam on a level 4 and it seemed to get most of the wrinkles out. Overall, I’m very happy with my purchase. I purchased a size 8 which is labeled XL on the tag in the color "black grey". My measurements 33 inch waist, 28in pants, hips 39, 34D bra, 155 lbs, 5'8" proportionate hourglass with long arms and legs. The XL fit like a size 7 pants. I'm currently between a size 6 and 8 pants. The waist just zips without being tight. The "shorts" underneath are bloomers so butt cheeks will show. Fit like size small underwear which is my size. They could have added at least 2 inches to the underneath shorts and they still wouldn't have shown. For my height, I'm glad they're there. Fabric is thin and the pleats start where a stomach bulge ends and so it accentuates the stomach rolls around underwear. I'll need to wear my light compression Spanx thong for the waistband to lay flat. It's nice the shorts underneath are stretchy so if you need to pull your top down, you can. Super cute skirt, great for the price. I got the zip up option instead of the stretchy option. Be aware— the zip waist has very little stretch! I wore the skirt below my natural waist but above my hips. For reference, my natural waist is 26 inches, high hip mark ~37 inches, fullest part of hips ~42 inches. I ordered a size medium and it fit true to size. Actually the sizing was perfect. While the waistband had minimal stretch, the inside shorts are very stretchy. I have a slightly longer torso and inseam, so they rode a little high and tighter than I’d design, but not uncomfortable. I was worried I’d be dealing with a wedgie for my concert, but thankfully that was not an issue. I know some other customers cut the shorts out, and that’s certainly an option worth exploring if you’d like. I appreciated the built in safety measure, no accidental undies seen! Overall it was perfect for the outfit I was constructing, and I would recommend it! It should be said though that I also saw an identical skirt a week later at Spirit Halloween haha, though it was the stretchy version with no undershorts. No regrets though! I purchased navy blue in size 6. The fabric is thick and durable, and comfortable during my waitressing shifts. After it’s washed, I will steam it before I get dressed for work. My one issue, is that my butt/hips are wider than my waist. If I pull the skirt all the way up, it’s baggy in my waist but the shorts are hiked up so high. They become more like cheeky bikini bottoms. If I pull the shorts down enough, the skirt becomes low rise and the hem falls close to the knee. There is some stretch but not enough if you’ve got a fuller butt. What I DID do- because this skirt is worth it, is order the size that matched my waist (2) cut the shorts out and I just wear my own underneath. Be warned that if you cut it, you may need to sew that fabric down a bit. It isn’t a problem for me because I wear a servers apron over it at work. That being said if you’re avg/smaller in the behind this is a five star skirt for sure. ... show more
