First thing I wanna say is, because of the packaging, it can get REALLY messy. Like, the styrofoam went EVERYWHERE, so have your vacuum on hand if you're not very good at taking things out ever so carefully. Second, before you put the cabinet together, go through the instructions booklet, and just do a simple check off list before you start building. I know some people on here said it didn't come with all the parts, so just do it for the sake of not getting half way through building, and finding out you can't finish it. Once everything is checked off and accounted for, and you've got the mess it makes cleaned up, as long as you follow the booklet, and check to make sure you're using the RIGHT pieces (one of my pieces was misnumbered so double check), it is really not that difficult to put together, definitely don't miss the pre-assembly bit like I did the first time, and check to make sure you're dowels and door springs aren't going to fall out because they will (they'e not attached to anything, they just sit in the hole to make it sturdier) One more helpful tip; when you're first putting it together, the middle support to the bottom half is the FRONT of the cabinet, so when you're putting it together make sure everything is facing the right way so you're not taking it apart and putting it back together again. Having and allen wrench head or bit to a power drill or an L wrench (which it provides) is also very helpful, cause you'll be screwing a lot of those in. Overall, it is beautiful. Holds everything I need it to in my very small kitchen, and is sturdy. It is really not all that difficult to put together. Side note; there was a little bit of damage to a corner, but barely ANYTHING to fret about, and the handles are plastic. So be careful screwing those in or you'll strip the holes on the inside of them. ... show more

    • Construction slightly confusing, but overall decent unit

The box this unit arrived in was pretty beat up. Luckily it was only the styrofoam and only a small little corner of a panel. Unfortunately the styrofoam broke in such a way that it was in million little styrofoam particles over every piece in the box all clinging with static electricity. It took longer to clean the styrofoam up and off of the unit than it did to assemble the unit. It was a pain. However the box was really well packed so the amount of styrofoam damage did it affect the quality of the unit. The back panels were nicely taped together for ease of installation, but because the panels were folded the tape was exposed and styrofoam had attached to every inch it could find. So the good intention kind of backfired for this particular box. None of this actually reflects on the unit itself. Some of the instructions were not clear on which way the panel faces. I found myself referencing the panel alignment image at the beginning of the booklet to determine which way to the panel would face. Several pieces did not have their identification stickers, but It was fairly easy to determine what pieces they were off of the parts guide. Aside for that construction was easy Overall the unit works great, and is sturdier than I imagined it would be. Bottom line, I am happy with my purchase. And will be happier once I go a day without finding sneaky static clingy styrofoam bits hiding on my furniture. Lol ... show more

Assembly time was approximately 3 hours with two people. Not all parts needed a second person. Objective was to do the project during the toddler's nap, and he woke up when I was nailing the back panel on. Close enough. Our Styrofoam was particularly fragile and messy. Try as we might to keep it in the box as we unpacked the pieces, it went everywhere. We vacuumed the area after unpacking and then twice more to get it all up (included in the assembly time I gave, as it was part of the project). It was not difficult to put together, just had a lot of pieces. The pictures were clear enough. The doors and drawer all fit relatively straight and even, so it looks fine. I bought it hoping it would work as a place to feed the cat (he's 18ish lbs, for size reference) and it seems just right, plus it has enough storage for his food and bowls, which will let us reclaim the sideboard for storing other kitchen stuff. I gave it four stars because it was a bit scuffed up (the front of the top doors is pictured as an example), but nothing was broken or missing or misaligned. The drawer bottom is thick cardboard attached by nails and screws to the bottom of the sides, so it should not be used for anything particularly heavy.
