I have hundreds of books and really wanted to display them, so I bought this bookcase on a whim. I ended up purchasing three bookcases in total. It was very easy to assemble, took me about twenty minutes. They are not that sturdy but they look very nice. Aesthetics matters to me, but if you want something sturdy, you probably would not be satisfied with this bookcase. I paid $39 each and even that was overpriced, I was thinking of getting a forth one but seen the price increased to $114. Are you kidding me?! These are worth, at most, $20. I cannot believe Amazon increased the price by so much! These bookcases are not worth such an exorbitant price, trust me. ... show more

I purchased this bookcase for my personal library, but the nails protrude out the sides of the bookcase, and the panels are not painted black on all sides. The visible low quality of the wood underneath each of the top panels is ugly and should have been painted black for consistency. Because the nails protrude out of the sides of the bookcase, the bookcase cannot be positioned next to my other bookcases without there being a visible space between them. The nails, which are a shiny, yellow color, do not cohere well with the rest of the black paint and sticks out like a sore thumb next to my other bookcases. I only bought this bookcase since it was small enough to fit between my other bookcases and my nearby wall, but now that I see this product for the scam that it is, I think the only proper use for this bookcase is firewood. The images of this product are misleading since they do not show the lack of black paint underneath the panels, and try to conceal the fact that the nails are of a ridiculous size and color. It is like the wrong parts were included. the top is black but the underside is particle board and is visible. I have another similar bookcase and both sides are black. This doesn't match the picture on the box. The bottom piece has the black on the correct side, but the one for the top only has black on one side so it looks crappy. And yes, I was using the correct piece. You can tell because of where the slates are. The other one I have (not sure of the brand) has countersunk screws with caps, where these are big screw heads sitting on the outside of your case so it looks like a something that belongs in the garage rather than a finished bedroom piece. I would never buy this again. Another frustrating part of this was the shipping method. I am buying online so I don't have to go out and expose myself to COVID. This was mailed US Postal Service and they don't deliver large heavy items to the door, just small packages so I had to travel across town to go to the Post Office to pick it up. This entailed getting someone with a large vehicle to help me because it was too heavy for me to lift and it wouldn't fit in my car. If it was shipped Fedex or UPS, it would have been delivered to my door. Something to consider when buying online. ... show more

Super frustrated!! I needed this shelf for work and have been waiting all week, finally get home to build it and it's broken in multiple places. I ordered another in hopes it will not be broken, guess ill find out in about a week! > :[

I am putting my shelves together that I got on Christmas for my glam room, and the first one I ordered earlier as you can see from the pictures is great with no issues, but the second shelf has two shelf panels #2 & #1 that are black on one side and wooden color (see pics) on the other side instead of all black like it should be. If you could send me just those two panels I would really appreciate it. It going to look really weird next to the exact shelf that is perfect. Thank you alot ... show more

I bought two of these. One box was damaged and the product itself was damaged. Total pain in shipping this back and I had to figure out how to get the box back together. The materials are half-inch press board with veneer. Very low quality materials. for $60 I thought I'd be getting something slightly better than IKEA but I guess not. See photos. I'm going to keep one simply because they're a pain to repackage and ship back but I would strongly recommend you save your money and look for a different brand and make. Usage for us id shelves on each side of the TV - see picture above. This arrived from UPS, the box is large and quite heavy. I laid out all the pieces and immediately there was some damage, both damages were inside upper corners and somewhat small so I assembled it. The damage was pretty much concealed. Once Build its not 100% stable and if you have small children you should use supplied harness and connect to the wall. The screws that hold it together do show on the sides, but they are brass colored and look ok but would we have preferred covers for them. It took 2 of us to start the assembly, but once I got a couple shelves installed an could lay it on its side I was able to finish myself. Not very difficult but as always the directions could use a little editing. That being said I have second one on its way (Its late) and i should be able to assemble this one in about 30 minutes or less... All in all its good for what its for, its not high end furniture, but that's not what I expected on Amazon anyway.
