It is a beautiful piece of furniture. It is as solid and sturdy as you could hope for in assemble-it-yourself furniture. The directions COULD be a little clearer but for the most part was fairly easy to put together. But here is WHY you should get this ... If you are like me, you read reviews not just to hear how good things were but (more importantly) how the company responded if there was a problem. And this company was EXCELLENT. It comes in TWO large boxes and they are each very heavy. (So I suggest you open them and carry the pieces in multiple trips to the room where the chest will go and then assemble). ONE of the boxes came with three damaged (in shipping) pieces of the wood. Customer service at Hodedah just asked me to send them pictures of the damaged pieces and shipped replacements to me at no cost within about a week. That is the kind of thing that will keep me coming back to purchase additional pieces from this company. ... show more

Dear whom ever this may concern, When I had first placed this order I tried to cancel it due to the numerous amount of complaints I seen about the product. When I tried to do so it would not allow me to cancel which was the first account of annoyance I had with the product. After many failed attempts of cancellation ( same day as I ordered ) I finally gave up and just hoped for the best from there. I was supposed to receive my package on May 16th but surprisingly it came the same week I ordered it ( received April 21st ). I was very confused as to why it came as early as it did but who is to complain about that right ? Now with hope that this could end up being a great product and a well needed addition to my bedroom, I started to unpack the items. One complaint was that people were not receiving instructions which I happened to have with mine so I'm thinking " This may not turn out so bad after all.." Spoke to soon. Pieces were either chipped, scratched, missing or deformed. I was missing a whole bag of nails/screws which made me have to try to replace other pieces and make due with what I had. Just to make a long story short the instructions that are given don't specify certain things or are confusing to comprehend some of the steps. There is definitely a way easier way to explain these instructions especially if it's for someone who is a beginner ( which I am not ) I've stood up till 7am for 3 days straight trying to put this thing together. The materials given are not sturdy enough for the construction of the cabinet itself. Damages INSANELY EASY ( like cutting a steak with a spoon like butter easy ). NONE OF THE PIECES ALIGNED, TILTED DRAWERS AND DOOR. Also the holes that were pre placed were either not nearly as big as they're supposed to be or not barely a whole at all causing certain pieces to snap during assembly. Now with these frustrations I'm seeing it's a hassle for refunds and such. I am writing this review in hopes that I can get a refund with this being proof as well as photos that I have taken. This has been a hassle since the beginning and could have all been avoided if my cancellation was allowed. I am now in need of a whole new dresser with about $200 less in my account. Please refund me money so I can purchase something that is going to be worth my money. Thank you - A VERY disappointed customer ... show more

Price is great but you get what you pay for. Design is great except for the one flaw in the hanging section. They made the middle shelf a screwed-in shelf which renders the hanging part useless (unless you have really short items). The packaging seems like it deteriorated because foam pieces were everywhere and there were a ton of scuff marks on the outsides of the dresser. A couple pieces were broken (handles are plastic) and there’s no extras in the packaging so you’re SOL. The instructions are hard to follow because the hardware packages are not labeled. Overall it seems to be a decent dresser for what you’re paying. I just think a little more care in the packaging and the instructions would make all the difference in this product. ... show more

Ok assembly was definitely a task in itself, took approximately 8 hours with a drill, per unit. I love the design and how the drawers and cabinets have the option to be locked. The locks all use different keys and that’s ok but I bought two units and now have 6 sets of keys lol. It’s nice to be able to lock away my medication and don’t have to worry about kids getting into it. One thing I did notice was these units are white but if you look really close they have a powder blue paint spray spots all over the tops and I’m ok with that cause it’s hardly noticeable. I absolutely love the shelves you can fit so much inside, I did not opt to use the included clothing hanger bar cause the height would not accommodate any adult size clothing without removing the top and middle shelves. I hate to see clutter so now it’s all hiding behind the doors and the hinges are super heavy duty. I do wish the material was solid wood instead of particle board. I’m super happy with the product and would definitely buy again in the future. ... show more
