Son loves it. We got some sleet that iced over our street last week so he was able bring it outside and use it on the ice. He likes that it can be angled in various directions.

I have bought a few of these stick-handling tutors/gates in the past (we moved somewhere warm, so the hockey gear is all back in storage). This kit works just as well as others and costs less, so no complaints. I play in the one beer league game per week in my new town, and I suck out loud at quick puck flips to get around defenders. This is a useful tool for practicing those flips and handling moves, or at least fingers crossed. The gates have plenty of clearance for a puck to slide underneath. They are also tall enough that you have to intentionally lift and drop your blade to successfully handle through the gates. This forces you to work on your stick movement. To be clear, the price is fine for what you get. Like most gate trainers, these are very light. A puck or a stick blade can easily knock them around/to the side/over if you clip them. It is a common complaint for cheap exercise equipment, but if it were a serious issue... I could pay more for weighted trainers. These are fine for almost everyone outside of an actual on-ice coach who doesn't want to keep setting up during team/group drills. It’s a solid, simple tool for the yard or the driveway or backyard.

We've got a young hockey player in the house, who's been obsessed, but still shows a little reluctance to carry the puck through the zone during games. We're hoping this will help him practice stick handling off the ice and build some confidence. Overall, the quality is great. It's obviously mostly plastic with metal screws, but unless you really try to beat it up, it should last a long time. We got the 5-segment option which seems like plenty, especially for a kid, and offers many possible configurations for practicing side to side handling, toe drags, and even moving drills while puck handling. The one downside overall is that, being made of plastic, this has a tendency to slide around if you bump it, but you can find ways to keep it down if that becomes a problem, depending on the surface you're using. It's competitively priced to similar trainers, so you can buy with confidence.
