Skates are quite stiff and break-in would have taken awhile I think. I ended up baking mine and then wearing them around the house with skate guards on for a few hours one afternoon, and that did the trick. Google "baking hockey skates" for how to do this. Now they fit perfect and seem very sturdy and well-made, especially for the price. A quick $15 initial sharpening at our rink, and good to go! Size: 7 Color: Black
Guided by the reviews and by universal guidelines online, size 7 should have been the perfect fit but the skates were way too small. Checked the measurements again after receiving the boots and again size 7 should have been perfect with a little room to spare. The product doesn't come with size guidelines online, what's making shoe size decision at this point impossible. $12.00 spent on returning the skates and left with no product. Very disappointing. Moving to a different brand. The skate box says US 7, EUR 39/40. I am a EUR size 39 and the skates were not just tight but I would say they were 2 o 3 sizes too small. ... show more

Nice skates for the $. I don't play hockey currently, but these work really well for my weekend skating. Nice support and seem well made. I am usually about a 10.5 sneaker and ordered a 9, which is about normal for a good fit with hockey skates. Might be ok for laid back rec league, but anything more serious I'd go up step or two to a CCM or Bauer vapor. Definitely can't complain for the money. ... show more

I am 6' 2" and around 240 lbs. and a beginner-intermediate skater. I have used these skates around 2-3 times a week for an hour at a time for over 1.5 months. I absolutely love these skates. They feel great and still look brand new, even after ~20 hours of use. All skates I have ever worn always feel floppy on me. These skates are no different on that front. They are very stiff on the outside because of the carbon fiber shell. I just feel like my ankles are too loose. I discovered a life hack with this pair ~I wear ankle braces inside. With the braces on, I have complete control with the blades always directly under my feet. I don't have to tie the laces overly tight. I can perform aggressive maneuvers such as slide stops. Anyway, yess I know I am new to skating but I love this product. 10 out of 10 would recommend. ... show more

I'm not sure what it is about these skated, but my feet really hurt after about 5 minutes. I've tried tightening them and loosening them. I've been skating with them at least 10 times now with my girls and still not used to them. I don't have a comparison but I can't imagine it is just me.

The skates came with an aggressive grind on the blade. I fought with it, because I didn't know how different grinds affected skating. I tided the skates on as tight as I could to get more control. When it came time for sharpening the guy made the hollow on the bottom of the blades flatter. Now I don't have to tie my skates supper tight and I'm enjoying the skates even more. ... show more
