  • Well done, from an aerospace engineer.
I have very little to criticize about this plane other than the spektrum proprietary receiver. Love the all-moving tail, pusher prop, and steerable landing gear. I swapped the receiver for an ELRS one to fit my transmitter and it still flies like a dream, even without the gyro! Plenty of power and plenty of control authority. I typically get about 10-20 minutes of flight time with a 1800mAh battery, depending on how aggressive I fly and whether or not I install the landing gear. 100% recommend this for first time flyers. Crash durability is good, luckily mine haven’t been too harsh yet. EDIT: After a few mild crashes, I am impressed by the durability. Except for a few gashes in the fuselage and wings from hitting branches + the tip of the vertical stab leading edge breaking from landing inverted (oops), the plane has held together and is completely flight capable. I swapped the propeller for a 6” pusher and the stock prop nut came out mid-flight. Found out later that was because the spektrum motor is left-hand threaded while the industry standard is right-hand threaded, so you need to use a normal propeller if you want to keep the stock motor. I elected to swap out the motor instead since I wanted more power anyway. Mounting holes look to be 16mmx16mm if you want to do this yourself. Flight times improved to 15-30 minutes with a larger and more efficient motor, top speed is roughly the same. The only “problem spot” is the nose wheel attachment point which, as others have mentioned, tends to loosen from the foam. I simply removed it as I prefer to hand launch and belly land anyway, and I covered the hole with duct tape. ... show more

  • floats so much have to make a low landing to keep from over flying the runway.
Easy to put together and flys like a dream, should be a good trainer, then take off safe and do anything you can think of loops rolls stall turns slide backs roll to left while circling all the way around to the right. Would recommend and buy again.

  • Great plane!
Great little plane, perfect for beginners but fun for more advanced users too. Easy to set up and get going and it’s pretty durable. The weak point seems to be the nose gear. Some of my friends hit the nose a little hard and it crushed right up into the foam structure. One couldn’t be repaired, the other friend was able to sort of repair his. So take it easy on the nose wheel and you’ll be fine. Other than that, it’s survived several encounters with trees and one mid air collision with the side of a building without a scratch. ... show more

  • This is a great second airplane for a beginning pilot becoming an intermediate pilot.
I would not suggest the Aeroscout as a first airplane. It does fly very well and is docile when competently flown, but because it is big, it is also heavy, and not proportionately stronger than the small beginner airplanes. Ergo, a botched landing usually results in damage to the nose wheel, which can be re-glued, yes, but not indefinitely. And when it really augers in nose first, the fuselage breaks just behind the main landing gear, and that’s a pretty difficult fix. On the plus side, again, it flys very well and is satisfying for aerobatics short of stunt flying. I’ve had three of them (first one lost to auger-in, second one flew into the sun, and third one now resides in a 500’ tree). But I have a 4th one still in the box, waiting for spring. For the price, it is a lot of airplane. ... show more

  • GREAT PLANE!
This is one of the best electric R/C planes ever. GREAT for a beginner as well as experienced flyer. In “experienced “ mode will do loops and rolls. Definitely get one. Great value. I bought floats for mine to fly on the snow. SUPER!

  • Get proper help
Very good starter plane. Not as easy as the YouTubs depicts. With any RC plane get some help from someone that knows how to fly RC it will save you a lot of repair and get you started with out getting disgusted and quitting. Good luck and Happy flying.
