As I was preparing to do my first engine wash on my ’07 Hummer H3 I found that I didn’t have any brushes to agitate the degreaser with. These seemed like a good deal and had decent reviews, so I decided to give them a try. The packaging was good, and everything arrived in good order. Upon unwrapping the items, I had my first suspicions that the quality might not be the best. I found that instead of receiving five different sized detailing brushes (10, 12, 14, 16, 18), that I received 2 x 14s and no 16. Not a huge issue, but it does speak a bit to quality control. The bristles on the brushes also didn’t seem like they would hold up to repeated (heavy) use, but I’ll update this review later if I find differently. I haven’t had a chance to use everything yet, but have used 1 x 14 detailing brush on engine trim and the lugs on my rims, and I’ve used the brass wire brush on part of my engine. Here’s what I’ve experienced, as well as some feedback: #14 Detailing Brush: Good on some of the not-so-easy to reach areas of the engine trim, but REALLY worked well to wrap around the lug nuts and clean the areas I haven’t been able to reach with a towel. I think these types of brushes will hold up well to both of these uses (and anything similar). Brass Wire Brush: Please reference the photos of my engine. I have to admit that I was VERY impressed with the before & after, and all it took was a little elbow grease. However, I didn’t have to use heavy pressure, because I wanted to clean the surface and not scratch the finish. On the down side, the other photos show that the brass brush might not last through too many uses. For the cost, I feel like it was worth it JUST to clean the metal portion of my engine. However, I there are SEVEN other brushes I still haven't used. My Recommendation: Buy it – you can’t go wrong for the price. Overall, the quality is GOOD for $10, and I’m sure I’ll get multiple uses on all our vehicles -and you will too.

Overall this kit works pretty good Vent cleaner: The vent cleaner didn’t work too well for my car. I had a lot more success removing the vent piece trim and using an air compressor to blow the dust out. Brushes: There are 5 brushes in this set and they work great for getting in the little cracks of everything. I ended up getting a cup with a little bit of dawn and water (car cleaner also works) and dipping the brushes in it to get all the cracks clean.
