    • Sturdy Strainers for the Win!
I realized that I needed to replace my spider strainer - the one I previously had was quite old and the handle, made of bamboo, was starting to fall apart. I looked around and found this set at a great price, so I grabbed them - and I'm glad that I did. These are far better than my previous strainer - the wires are more tightly set together, so I can scoop solid objects more easily, and the various sizes allow me a greater range of uses. They're stainless steel (unlike my old spider) and sturdy, and the handle is a good size to be held in one's hand - not too thick, not too thin. One of the things that I've recently used it for is popcorn (I know, I know... :)). I make my popcorn in a wok (with coconut oil) and then transfer it to a bowl; previously, I'd have a great deal of trouble using my spider - in fact, I wouldn't even bother. But the mid-sized spider is GREAT for doing the transfer - it scoops the corn up (rather than pushing it over the sides of the wok as had previously been my experience). I use my spiders for pulling blanched veggies from their blanching liquid, skimming my stock, and have even used it to pull pasta from water when it's ready when I didn't feel like lifting the pot and draining with a colander. I bought this to use when frying/steaming and it did NOT disappoint!! I love that it comes in 3 sizes, so I can use which one I need for each item I’m cooking. Helps so much when cooking chicken tenders, French fries and dumplings/potstickers. I just scoop, drain and set aside. They are also very easy to clean. Great product at a great price! ... show more

I don't usually get too excited about items for the kitchen, but these 3 three marvelous strainers needed to be talked about... they are, first of all very sturdy, easy to clean, light weight and strong...they would make wonderful gifts....N O

These are OK, but they are constructed with long openings so things can fall through. I find I only use the middle size, so I would have been better off investing in a higher quality single strainer.

    • Good replacement for current strainer
Replaced a spider strainer that rusted when washed in dishwasher. So far this has worked well. The large one may not get much use though because it is quite large.

I use these when deep frying outside with cast iron pans. They are sturdy, hold up to frozen stuff, and are dishwasher safe. Would highly recommend.

These kitchen spiders are just a good value..good price..good quality..light weight..stainless steel..may not be able to pick up a 10 lb. Roast or chichen..but fried chicken..fries..fish..will be just fine..
