This is a sturdy cutting board. We needed a second one for our kitchen because the butcher's block countertops we have show heat marks/circles from pots and pans. This is a great board, nice and heavy so we expect many years of use from it. I did purchase a set of sticky pads for the bottom to help hold the board in place while on top of the butcher's block counters. Otherwise it can slide around.

What I have is a small kitchen with next to no counter top space. What we do is try to use the stove top. Then the stove died and the new one has a giant 2 piece grate. Crap falls in and is a pain in the butt to get out, so it spends a lot of time bring dirty, which drives me nuts! Some things live there on the stove top, small kitchen, nowhere else to go with it. So everything has to come off to get the 2 giant grates off to clean the stove top. Now there is a big bamboo board on the stove top. If I want to actually use the stove top, I hang this board on an s hook on the stove door handle. This board comes with a super nifty incredibly handy hole in one corner! I got this particular board just because of that hole, so I could hang the board up, as i have nowhere else to put it, ugh! The rest of the time, it lives on the stove, where it is a much appreciated flat surface that gets used for darned near everything, as well as, of all things, a cutting board. I love that it has the drip ring, but I haven't had anything juicy enough to need it on there yet. I have another much smaller board, and they both are wonderful to use, both bamboo, nice to cut on and easy to clean. AND, the big bonus for me, NO PLASTIC!!!

I have a Mac Knife. I had a nyl8n board. The knife would dull in a few uses. I thought the knife was poor quality. Then I got this board and I had a new knife. It stays sharp for many uses before I have to touch it up. The board looks great and is easy to clean. If you want a cutting board but this one. It's just great.
