I really like the pictures and descriptions in this book. They are interesting and to the point. It is a little hard to read cover to cover, because of the book’s size and scope, but read a little bit at a time or as a reference, this book is quite good.

This has some really good details of a lot of history of civilizations. Anti-evolutionists will have to bite their tongue and try to get past some of the very early pages, but if they can, it is worth it to see the presentation of how a lot of human history and civilizations progressed across the map. For the most part, this was presented in a pretty impartial manner with lots of very good detail, trivia and facts scattered on each page as you make your way through from ancient history and migrations to the current times. I'm unsure of how to review this because the book itself is great, so I don't want to give fewer stars to make people think it isn't. But the binding was damaged and it's coming off.
