My old slide belt broke on the frame (not the clasp catch) so I ordered this because it looked like the previous one I had. It was also significantly less expensive than other brands that are something like 4 times more expensive. I also noticed you can tighten it without the loud click, you can hold the catch mechanism open and just tighten the belt then let go of the catch & you're set. You can click it to tighten it so you can determine with some granularity how much to tighten it but it is not necessary, you can just pull to the what feels right then let it go! Love these belts. The ratchet design makes the belt as snug, or loose, as you want all the time. No more too tight or too loose because the next hole isn’t right where you need it. I was planning to return it tomorrow, but tonight I decided to use it to try on a new pair of jeans. I can't lie when I initially opened the belt, I didn't read the instructions. I tried it on and thought it wasn't holding tightly, especially since the belt seemed to be designed to lock itself when slid without a separate lock. However, I was very wrong because it does indeed lock tightly. The key thing is the design at the end/edge of the belt(look at the pic). It wasn't just for appearance; it actually serves as the lock. When you slide the belt, that design should be on the buckle, and it will lock very tightly. The belt also looks fantastic, so, for me, definitely worth it. ... show more

Love everything about this belt- the quality, the size, the ease of use, the fit.. BUT, my issue is the corners on the open end of the buckle. Although they are slightly rounded, not sharp, the corners of the buckle are rubbing holes in my work t-shirts. I work in retail & often lean against the counter which is at the same height as my waistline/belt. I'm not talking about a lot of friction, just repetitive motions. So I'm kinda puzzled as to why it does this, & somewhat disappointed I've had to replace my work shirts sooner than I expected. ... show more

I bought it because it said it was made with real leather. It does have real leather but in the center. It is cover entirely in rubber. The ratcheting mechanism works like it is supposed to. The quality is ok. Time will tell if it was worth buying.
