Hill's Prescription Diet k/d Kidney Care was recommended by our veterinarian when our female terrier mix, Polly, was diagnosed with kidney disease. She was twelve and a real trooper when she wasn't feeling well. We believe that between our vet's excellent care and our feeding her the K/D diet, Polly was able to give us six to nine months more joy in our lives and we believe she enjoyed the last months of her life. I like the fact that my dog will actually eat this food since her kidney disease diagnosis it’s been hard figuring out what to feed her and her whole diet had to change but she took to this food right away which makes me feel better knowing she’s on the right track I also purchased the moist canned Hills science KD which I’ve had to mix with other food to get her to eat it, long story short she loves the dry food but the canned is a little trickier to get her to eat it, as for the expense I’m not happy about it but if it helps her live longer it doesn’t matter to me she’s worth it ... show more

My dog would not eat any dry dog food , my vet told me to try this and mix it with a little water , then put it in the microwave for a few seconds to soften it. She loves it and I noticed a little weight gain lol.
