My daughter wanted this bike. When it was delivered via Amazon the side of the box was smashed and the front wheel was bent. There was no way it could be used. Whenever we turned the wheel the brake stopped it without ever pressing on it from the handle. I contacted Hiland (it was the mint green bike and therefore not from Amazon) and they confirmed that it indeed need replaced. I requested it via Amazon but somehow my replacement was cancelled. Not sure what happened but Hiland sent me a new bike via another carrier. This bike was perfect. I was happy to know that they valued good customer service and definitely took care of me.     • Warped front wheels, unsafe and unusable

The media could not be loaded. My daughter was excited to receive this bicycle for her birthday. Unfortunately after assembling the bicycle I noticed that the front wheel was warped. This defect rendered the bicycle unsafe and unusable. Although disappointed, I figured that this must be a fluke. I contacted Hiland's customer service to see if they could send a replacement wheel. They told me no and suggested that I return it. This meant disassembling the bicycle, repacking it, and dropping it off at UPS. I returned it and requested a replacement bicycle. When the second bicycle arrived, I assembled it and guess what? Same issue! One month after my daughter's birthday, 2 times assembling and disassembling the bicycle, 2 times repacking and driving to UPS store to return bicycles, my daughter still does not have a birthday present. What should have been her favorite birthday gift has been nothing but a nightmare. Save yourself a headache and chose a bicycle company that inspects their bicycles before shipping them out. To say I am disappointed with this product would be an understatement. Shame on you amazon for allowing this product to be sold. Christmas gift and my grand daughter absolutely loved it. When first received, bike had some scratches on it....wrote to seller, asked for a few pics and next day sent out a new bike. Right out of box the derailleur hanger was bent and shifts off gear. Had to straighten hanger on frame and readjust shifter. Fork was over tighten. Causing turning to be stiff. Pretty much everything was over tighten. Also I feel that I got a returned item because the front cable had a few spots in the cable that looks like someone have made a few adjustments. If you know how to work on bikes then you can make it work. Otherwise could be a nightmare. ... show more

Easy to assemble (my 15 year old did it with no trouble), sturdy, and easy to ride. Perfect for my 12 year old girl. She loves the color, it fits her perfectly, and easily breaks and shifts gears. Couldn't ask for more. Good bike.

Right out of the box this is a nice looking bike. The assembly is pretty straight forward if you know your way around a screwdriver, but there is where I ran into the first issue. The right side pedal hole was not threaded and had to be tapped, which is always a dangerous game, and the front brakes took more time to adjust than to put the rest of the bike together and the top of the brake line, inside the brake handle, came out several times while adjusting. If it comes out while trying to brake it could create an unsafe situation. (Someone else in a previous review said their child was slightly hurt due to this), but is thankfully okay. When it comes to products for children specifically, more thought and care must be put into it. My daughter is 11 and is familiar with bikes and will be keeping an eye out for those types of things (Like the finicky chain and gears as well) but younger children do not pay attention to things like that. It's quite obvious this is a simple and cheap bike to get you by until you save up for one of good quality. If this bike lasts the summer I will be surprised and edit this review lol. ... show more
