  • This tool has worked great for me!
Model: Crimper Kit
First, do watch some Youtube videos of how to feed the wire through the connector because that is by far the "fussiest" part of terminating. Also make sure there are no kinks left in the wires, that will prevent them from inserting into the connectors. My wirecutters have curved sides and I pinch the wires between that and my thumb one at a time and pull the wires quickly through to remove the kinks (have to repeat 2 or 3 times). The best tip I read was to sort the wires, pinch them between your fingers in order and cut them AT AN ANGLE and immediately while still pinching them push them into the connector. This has worked well for me. Anyway regarding the tool, it has performed flawlessly. Make sure you've got the connector pushed all the way into it, and that the wires are all extending cleanly out the hole on the other side. Crimp down until the tool releases and you're done. All 8 wires have trimmed cleanly every time I've used it, and every connector has performed without trouble. It's nice to be able to make cables the length I want them instead of looping a bunch of excess somewhere and trying to hide it! I made a cable to connect from my router to a PoE hub and cables connecting the hub to PoE Ring cameras. Everything is performing perfectly. Also a note on the included jacket stripper. Some people complained in their reviews that it nicks the wires. Well yes, THAT IS WHY THERE IS A PULL STRING IN YOUR CAT6 CABLE. FIRST you use the stripper to remove part of the jacket, then you grab the pull string and tear it down the jacket several inches, then you cut the jacket off with scissors. Then you trim the wiring shorter than where it may have been nicked. The stripper works great when you do this properly! ... show more

  • update
Model: Crimper Kit
This product appears to be well made, I bought the heads that’s come with the tool. I don’t know if it is the crimper or the heads, but had a terrible experience. Every time I crimp 1&8 don’t get cut. Cable looks to be good, test fine, but had problems on every cctv cable i installed. Had to go back and put new ends on all of them with my original crimper and heads. I like the theory here, but don’t think these are reliable. After my review the seller contacted me immediately, and sent a new replacement free of charge, They also indicate that when crimping you must have the wires facing down and crimp up, that appeared to fix the issues. great customer service. ... show more

  • Great kit!
Model: Crimper Kit
I wasn't expecting much out of this kit for the price but this turned out to be great quality stuff. I used it to install some CAT6 cabling to support some new POE cameras we installed on a rental home. The crimper was perfect and the ends were of good quality. Good buy!

  • Excellent Tool. Gets the job done with ease
Model: Crimper Kit
Just used this crimping tool last night. Had to run Cat6 to the opposite end of my house due to a wifi weak zone. This tool worked like a charm. I installed the CAT6 wire (about 100') and connectors and made about 3 cables and it worked perfectly. I would buy this again in a heart beat. The wire cutting feature is so nice to have because you don't have to worry about the length of the wires or how much of the cable shield you cut before crimping, it just snips off the ends like butter during the crimping process. ... show more

  • Update on Seller Response
Model: Crimper Kit
Update Seller responded to my original rating and provided a new unit that DOES cut off all wire ends. Have upgraded my rating to 5 stars. Product has been used to install 50+ RJ45 ends but about about 20 units it started to not cut #8 end. Now it will not cut off the ends of the #1 and #8 wires. There is no way to adjust the cutting blade so must use clippers or a knife to remove those wire ends. I would give the tool a 5 star rating otherwise but with no way to adjust the cuting blade it is only worth a 2 star ... show more

  • Very effective, includes all needed parts at solid price
Model: Crimper Kit
Solid experience using the crimp tool. I primarily used it on Cat6 (around 30 cables), and a few Cat5e (around 10). Most of the challenges I ran into were my skill level on using this (first time ever crimping ethernet cables), but after doing a few, I was able to do them pretty quickly. I didn't feel a need to use the yellow tool (you can use the crimp tool to score the shielding at an exact diameter, which felt more reliable). I really like the wire pass through feature, so you dont have to pre-cut the wires at the right lengths first. If it's your first time using the tool, look up a video tutorial, then practice on a cable you don't mind messing up on a few times. I had some very short ethernets traced through the walls that i couldn't risk messing up on, so made a point to do those last. ... show more

  • Just mark pin 1 on the side you insert the cable into
Model: Crimper Kit
It works well, it has a marking for correct pin one placement on the opposite side that the connector is inserted into and that is literally my only gripe about this item. I fixed that by putting down some tape and marking the pin one side. Other than that it has worked well, the outer wire stripper does a good job and with very light pressure I haven’t cut into any inner wires after crimping dozens of connectors and all of the connections have transmitted data and power without an issue. ... show more

  • Good product for the price
Model: Crimper Kit
My husband purchased one of these a few months ago for like 10 dollars, and of course it was broke within a couple of weeks. Well, he is using these in a daily basis and is holding on pretty well! I'm actually surprised with the way they work as he has used them inside the house and seems to be super easy to handle. ... show more
