I'm 64 so I have bought lots of Hi-Tec boots over the years from the lower cost boots to the top tier boots. My Altitude boots from 2003 seem to be of a higher quality. The 2003 boots do wiegh more but the leather seems alot better. Still this new style are very comfortable.

Owned several pair of Hi Tecs through the years, pretty decent boot for the money. Came as described. Seem to be put together well. Made in China. Hi Tec has a plant in the US too, was hoping they were made there. Happy with the boots, have not field tested yet, still breaking them in right now. Will update review in a few months.

Let me began by saying that I have worn Hi-Tec boots for over twenty years. I have yet to be disappointed in their durability. I was disappointed in the finish on the leather. I thought they would have a finish that could be polished since I wear them out and not just to hike or work in. But it seems as if Hi-Tec has changed the leather finish so I too must adapt. The pair that these new boots are replacing I have worn over ten years and it is time to put them to use around the yard and to work in. Over all very good boots.
