  • Great build, great learning
I got this as a gift for my birthday and worked with my 4yr old to build it. It's definitely an adult toy (or older kid). There are some extremely tiny pieces, but by the end of the build my 4yr old was able slide the little washers and gears together like a pro. There were no issues with the build. The instructions were tough, but as long as you pay attention they had no issues or errors. All parts were in the box along with more than plenty replacements in case you lost anything. There was even some flat pieces left over to make a "crate" that my son picks up with the arm. The arm doesn't move my forcing it. Which is good, he's forced to learn how to make it move by turning the gears. I can see the gears turning in his head as he watch the gears move with the knobs. I highly recommend this product as a parent/child build. I can't wait to get more and am now interested in the Vex Robotics challenges they have! ... show more

  • Great toy
My 12 year old son loves it! He got it as a Christmas present and has already built the arm and then built a catapult. Both work great (well, the catapult looks far better than it actually launches stuff but in my book, that's a good thing).

  • Great for a robotics enthusiast
Bought this for my nephew who is crazy about robotics. He couldn't wait to set it up - two thumbs up from him when he got it set up!

My daughter (10) and I built this together. She absolutely loves it and uses the robotic arm to pick up things in the house....lol. Really good present if you are looking for ways to spend quality time with your kid, fun for all involved.

I had fun building this with the kids. My oldest son got his fingers pinched pretty bad putting it together though. It is well designed and fairly sturdy but it can't pick up a lot of weight at all.

These are terrible toys. My son received several kits for his birthday. We put two together and neither worked. They are cheap flimsy material. Customer service is not great either. Luckily I was able to return this one I purchased from Amazon. I am stuck with four different kits that are useless. I would go with an erector set or find a metal version. Great concept but this brand does not work. ... show more

  • Don't waste your money or time.
This product was a Disappointment to myself as well as my son whom it was a Christmas gift for. It took entirely too long to put together, my first one purchased had to be sent back, about a third of the way into it we realized an entire pack of pieces was missing. The second one arrived, spent forever building it, only to realize it's very flimsy and kind of a pain to use. The instructions also fail to show you the second and third things the box features you can build with the kit, it only shows you how to build the arm, NOT the chopper or scorpion. Also doesn't include motor which I somehow didn't see when purchasing, and the motor is sold out still. Huge dissapointment. bummed I wasted my money as well as one of my sons gifts on it. ... show more
