I love the size and look of this alarm. It has a fairly loud sound, but could benefit from being a bit louder. The pin is difficult to pull which is good from the standpoint that it doesn't seem like it would go off on it's own if you have it in your purse. However, it's a good idea to practice with it if you are going to be able to pull it in a self-defense type situation.

There have been many reports of crime in my area, and women leaving the mall seem to be very vulnerable to attacks. I carry this any time I am walking alone, even in broad daylight. When the easy to pull pin is removed it makes a loud shrill sound and also has a flashing light. At least it will get the attention of others in the area if you need it.

The specs show: "2 CR2032 batteries required. (included)" - doesn't say INSTALLED - also, what is not said, anywhere, is that the batteries are not replaceable. A shame in our throwaway society. So how long will the 2 INSTALLED batteries last if one had to use the device a couple of times and the device was on for 5 minutes each time? How will one know if the batteries are exhausted except for pulling the pin each time you think you might need it.... something for the company to consider would be a low battery warning light. Description states "365 days battery-life" - too general - do they mean 365 days if one has used the device? Has not used the device? CR2032 batteries are rated with a 10-year shelf life, at least the good brands are. Not sure if I'll be keeping it.
