Excellent delivery of this box of 1.45 ox, 36 bars of Hershey's Milk Chocolate with Almonds. These cost approximately $1.50+ locally, from Amazon they are $0.88 a bar for 36 bar state tax takes a few cents.) They arrived in a box packed with 3 cooler bags, insulated walls, top and bottom. Not a chunk of melted chocolate! Why the concern? We live in a U.S.A. state with a warm desert. We once forgot and left some chocolate in our car. They melted into a chocolate, hard and solid chunk. With some effort, we turned the chocolate chunk into chocolate "Turtles." 36 chocolate bars should last 72 to 108 or more days. ... show more

Hershey's chocolate is great and this was on sale for a great price. I keep this large pack in the refrigerator where it is convenient for anyone in the family to grab for a snack. It was also on sale for a great price.

We have been ordering Hershey chocolate+almonds habitually for years from Amazon. In the past, the price was between 60 and 70 cents per candy bar. So it was an easy "yes" to order a box every month. Lately this has changed and to be honest, Hershey's chocolate is well... there are better chocolates around when the price goes up! If I am going to spend a lot then I want better product, pure and simple. Here are my considerations: Pros and Cons Summary: Pros: ✅ Historically, the price was very good ✅ Taste is bitter, but acceptable, for the price. Was an easy buy. ✅ Portion size was and still is appropriate Cons: ❌ Taste is a bit acidic. Have been willing to accept it because the price was reasonable. ❌ The almond count is often too low ❌ The almond spacing is random. Sometimes you end up with only chocolate and no nuts. ❌ Recently the price has been higher than I expect and other candy bars are cheaper and better tasting ⭐ Rating: 3/5 ⭐ 🤔 Things to Consider: - Certain dollar-type stores may have prices that are similar to the candy bars offered by Hershey and prices may be similar. - At stores you can buy one only and not have to eat through a box of 36! - When buying one or two, you can vary the type and quantity you like - When paying more, there are fresh bakery products that can be considered instead of Hershey packaged goods. - Competing candy bars without chocolate may now be a lot more affordable than american chocolate 💡 Overall Verdict Whereas in the past, Hershey chocolate was in my opinion an excellent value, the high cost and availability of other candy bars at a considerably lower pricepoint has changed my ordering/eating habits. We are taking a break from these for a year and may come back to them later. In the meantime, we find we just don't like hershey chocolate _enough_ to keep buying them, especially in larger quantity. Although Hershey has not changed much about its product, I just can't recommend these at this time due to the price + lack of value.
