I read reviews and decided I would get this bag, and I am so glad I did. I wasn't sure if I would be happy at the price point, but needed something for international travel, and now I am in love with this bag!!! This could easily double as a weekender bag. I put books, devices, two pairs of clothes, shoes, and toiletries in this bag for carry-on in case my big luggage got lost/ delayed at my destination, and it is super roomy, stylish and sturdy. I know a few mentioned lack of pockets, but I used all the exterior ones and then used little zip up cosmetic type bags and mini packing cube to keep my stuff organized, and it was actually easier to grab a mini bag (as opposed to digging in deep pockets) to access what I needed. Don't think twice and just go ahead and get this. You won't be sorry!

I just received my Herschel Strand "shoulder bag" but there is no way these stiff handles are going to work as a "shoulder bag." They are not flat and flexible like some tote bags and the handles are so stiff I'm not sure if this stiffness will go away. The handles are more like an overnight bag but the handles are too long to just be an overnight bag, they are the length of a tote but the feel extremely stiff and I'm concerned this if this is filled with stuff and it gets too heavy it might not feel good digging into my shoulder. The size of the tote area it'self is great actually. I like that it's slim in size and so I was really hoping to use this as a Work Tote bag. Certainly was excited about the 3 front pockets which makes up for the fact that there is no internal storage compartments. The look of the bag I really like. Very minimalist since I purchased the Black one. I'm still not sure if i want to keep this bag and hope the handles de-stiffen with use over time.

After having and using this bag for college and some traveling for a year now, it's pretty decent. I get a lot of compliments on the styling, even though I don't think it's anything overly special. It holds all my books, my laptop, a water bottle and pencil case with some room to spare, even without expanding it. It could benefit from some small pockets inside because anything small you put inside seems to get lost and you end up rummaging around for ages looking for it and I don't always feel comfortable putting things in the outer pockets, as there's no way to secure them inside. It can get uncomfortable carrying it on your shoulder if it's a little heavy and I find that one of the straps always tends to slip off. And don't expect to keep the leather zipper accessories for long because they'll come undone and get lost forever. But, even with all that being said, out of all the bags I've tried for school, it's been the best so far.

Absolutely love this bag. I purchased it to use as my hospital bag for when I go into labor and it's able to fit a few days worth of my stuff plus the baby's, with room for extras like a large toiletry bag, my hair dryer, and a pair of shoes. I can definitely see myself using this as an overnight bag in the future or even a diaper bag for extended travel. It's my first Herschel so I wasn't sure about the quality but it's great. I was worried that something super trendy would be lower quality but this is not the case. The light grey is really pretty, although I'm a bit worried about its getting dirty. I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. I do wish there was at least a small pocket on the inside for some small things, but instead I bought the carry-on dopp kit to go inside to hold stuff like that. Should be fine. Overalla great bag that I highly recommend.

This bag looks great from the photos and is a really good size, but the straps are so dense they barely move and do not stay on your shoulder because they’re too think. If you put the straps in the crook of your elbow instead, prepare for pain. It also doesn’t have an pockets inside… Overall cute and very sturdy, but only good if you are carrying very short distances.

I’m a CNA who works 16 hour shifts, so I bring a lot of stuff with. I purchased the black bag for winter and I couldn’t be more impressed with the quality and looks. Simple but cute. Looks expensive. The best part is that it doesn’t look bulky or loud and you wouldn’t expect the inside to be so roomy but it is.the The outside pockets are discrete but super handy and secure. I wouldn’t say the bag is stiff at all. It’s just sturdy.

Love this bag! Perfect size for travel or weekend bag! The material is a bit stiff but I am hoping the more I use it the less stiff it will be however, I have no regrets! It's my favorite bag thus far!
