Hercules line is fine, gets the job done. Bought many size weights/colors. Now for the spool worst in the industry. Comes apart while loading reals, leaving a mess to untangle for an hour our two. Warning buyer be warned ⚠️

If you're not into marketing and it's magical prestige, then this fly line will serve you well. I installed it onto three of my and my son's 5-6 wt outfits for use on our Michigan lake to catch big 'gills, bass, and pike. We've had it spooled for a month now and have yet to notice any degradation of floating. The double-weld loops simplify installation (nail knots are never fun). For newbies, each end of the line is labeled with a sticker, BUT also each end is ETCHED! That is a high class feature! There may or may not remain an argument for a big name fly line but only for a salt-water flats GUIDE whose income relies on very high and exacting standards... Yet I've not noticed ANY compromise thus far. I just ordered another for my 10wt pike/salmon outfit. ... show more

I purchased this to use on my dad's 50 plus year old Shakespeare Wonder Rod combo and it's a perfectly serviceable line. Casts well, straight, and true. Handled a 12 plus inch brown trout without a hiccup. If you want bragging rights, I guess you can go get a more expensive line, but this meets all my needs for the Wisconsin creeks that are the bulk of my fly fishing. ... show more
