I was worried about fit after reading everyone claiming these run on the small side. I am 6 ft, around 168 lbs (athletic but on the slim side). If anything it's a little full for me. It fits absolutely fine, but could be a little slimmer for my build. Just my two cents. Love the jacket.

Wore mine as a jacket during my 20 days in Ireland. It got quite a bit of use in rainy conditions and worked very well. Comfortable as a jacket as well. One change is needed so it would be possible to roll up and secure the hood to keep it out of the way when not in use.

The materials and workmanship are first rate. The fit is good as long as you don't sit. The slim fit puts pressure on the zipper at the bottom. Layering options are - slim. I can imagine a T-shirt and a long sleeve T-shirt as layer but no more. Does HH have a sense of humor - yes. The cute small snaps at the top and bottom of the zipper are barely less humorous than the tiny inside pocket my phone barely fits. It's only $100 so I kept it, but I suspect my tossing and turning at night may have something to do with why I did....

I have had my original Helly Hanson rain jacket for over twenty-five years. IT still fits like a glove but now leaks. That is not the problem. So I bought a new jacket XL which is the same size as the original. The new one is much smaller in the stomach area. Yes I know what you are thinking, this guy got heavier and is blaming it on the manufacturer. Well if that was true why does my old XL fit very comfortably? The shoulders and arm length is plenty big. I just feel Helly Hanson tighten the material in the stomach area. So that is why I'm only giving them three stars. Quality five stars Fit or sizing two stars. Might need to try on before you buy!
